Absolutely. Based in Amsterdam, Trio Galantes is available for performances throughout the Netherlands and internationally. Our experience includes concerts, festivals, corporate events, weddings and theatrical productions. We are particularly interested in international engagements, including cruise ships, hotels, cultural institutions and concert venues.
We have had the pleasure of performing more than 50 times at the prestigious Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, in both educational school concerts and family concerts, with original music composed for the Trio Galantes. With a further 17 performances scheduled for the 2027/28 season, this ongoing collaboration has been an exceptionally rewarding experience.
Being part of the remarkable artistic and organisational world of such an iconic institution has been both an exciting professional challenge and a dream come true. It is an experience that has enriched us enormously, both as musicians and as an ensemble.
What we enjoy most are performances where we can connect with an appreciative audience – whether they already know and love the repertoire or, even more rewarding, discover its beauty through our music and become captivated by it.
For us, the music itself is always at the heart of everything we do. We see ourselves as heirs and ambassadors of a rich and beautiful musical tradition, and feel privileged to share its timeless melodies, traditions and emotions with audiences everywhere.
Trio Galantes was born in Amsterdam from the meeting of three classically trained Latin American musicians from Chile, Mexico and Brazil, united by a shared passion for the golden age of Latin American romantic music. Drawn together by their love of boleros, intricate guitar arrangements and three-part vocal harmonies, they began performing as a trio, bringing this rich musical tradition to contemporary audiences. Since then, they have developed a distinctive repertoire, blending classical precision, virtuoso requinto playing and subtle jazz influences, performing at corporate events, weddings, and festivals of all sizes across the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy, as well as prestigious concert venues.
Our greatest influences are the legendary romantic trios of the past – Los Panchos, Los Caballeros, Los Tres Ases and Los Diamantes – whose musical legacy we proudly seek to preserve and carry forward. We are equally inspired by the genius of composers such as Roberto Cantoral, Ernesto Lecuona and Agustín Lara.
Choosing one greatest song is almost impossible, but Cuando vuelva a tu lado, Maria Grever's masterpiece, would be a strong contender. Born from the heart of the Latin American romantic tradition, it crossed musical borders, found its way into the jazz repertoire and returned enriched by new interpretations, harmonies and influences. For us, it embodies the timeless, ever-evolving dialogue between Latin American music and the wider musical world.
Trio Galantes combines the musical traditions of Chile, Mexico and Brazil in a distinctive interpretation of Latin America's golden age. Our signature sound features intricate three-part vocal harmonies, virtuosic requinto and guitar playing, classical precision and subtle jazz influences. Rather than simply recreating the past, we bring this rich musical heritage to life through original arrangements that respect its roots while giving it a fresh and personal voice.
Amsterdam is our creative home and the place where our three musical paths came together. Although our roots are in Chile, Mexico and Brazil, we have developed our artistic identity within the city's wonderfully international cultural environment. From Amsterdam, we bring the music of Latin America's golden age to audiences across Europe and beyond.
Trio Galantes is based in Amsterdam, and our international background is reflected in the group's musical identity. We can discuss travel, documentation and work requirements for international engagements in advance and provide the relevant information required by organisers.
We generally prefer to arrive 2–3 hours before the performance to allow sufficient time for setting up, soundchecking and preparing comfortably. Our preferred format is 2 x 45-minute sets, with a short break in between. Alternatively, when the event calls for it, we can offer a single continuous performance of approximately 70–80 minutes. We are happy to discuss adjustments to suit the event's schedule and requirements.
We are happy to perform outdoors, provided that the performance area offers adequate protection from the elements. As we perform with delicate, high-quality vintage instruments, they must be fully protected from direct sunlight, rain, humidity and excessive heat. A shaded, covered performance area with a flat, level surface and access to a nearby power supply is therefore essential. The instruments cannot be exposed to direct weather conditions under any circumstances.
Trio Galantes performs from an established repertoire of carefully crafted arrangements, featuring intricate three-part vocal harmonies and sophisticated guitar arrangements. As each song requires considerable musical preparation, we generally work with our existing repertoire rather than taking last-minute requests. However, we are happy to consider learning one or two special songs for an occasion, provided they fit our musical identity and sufficient time is available to arrange, rehearse and prepare them to the standard we aim to maintain.
Audiences and presenters often describe our performances as warm, captivating and deeply engaging. They are drawn to the beauty of our three-part vocal harmonies, the virtuosity of our guitar playing and the passion with which we bring these timeless melodies to life. Our performances create an intimate yet vibrant atmosphere, often transporting listeners into the musical world of Latin America's golden age. We particularly enjoy seeing audiences become increasingly absorbed in the music, whether rediscovering familiar classics or discovering this rich musical tradition for the first time.
