The first nucleus of the True Blues Band was formed in 1996 by Max Furio (harmonica) and Stefano Piccirillo (bass and vocals). Over the years, various guitarists and drummers alternated until they reached the current line-up with Antonio Alfano (guitar) and Adriano Formati (drums).
Over the years the band has specialised in the typical sounds of Chicago blues; in fact, the repertoire ranges from the classics of Muddy Waters to Jimmy Reed, from T-Bone Walker to Jimmy Rogers, as well as a few unreleased tracks in style.
The band has participated in major national blues festivals including the Pistoia Blues Festival, Liri Blues Festival (with Kenny Neal and Billy Branch), Macchia 2018 (with Chris Cain), Campania Blues Festival 2016 (with Lurrie Bell), Priorablues, Opatija Blues Festival 2018 (Croatia), Blues River Festival 2018 (Trezzo Sull'Adda, MI).
In 2017 they released the CD “We Mean Blues”.
They have always been very active in the clubs of Campania, managing to total up to 70 dates a year.
