Reviews of The Unknowns

There are songs that just stand out because they are so different from everything out there. “Stay Down Kat”, by The Unknowns, is definitely one of those songs. There’s a suave, jazzy, bluesy feel to this song, with great lead and backing vocals. It’s sultry, sensual, mysterious, and controlled, yet it has its powerful moments. And who can resist a great sax solo? Those things will draw you in, and soon The Unknowns will be known.

Voices as smooth as molasses, coaxing you into a velvet wingback chair, only to take you by the hand and guide you onto the dance floor as soon as you sit.....This group of women aren’t just a one trick pony though, they continually flex their musical muscles throughout the record. They keep the listener on their toes with different styles, sprinkling in slight rhumba sounds, some flamenco guitar in one song and as previously stated soul throughout.

Amazing original act and world class performers.

Such wonderful harmonies from a bygone era. Immediately captivating. The Unknowns are the real deal….

The Unknowns, well they blew me out of the water. I strongly recommend Will You Still Love Me...amazing local music!

I enthusiastically and whole-heartedly will say: THIS BAND IS AMAZING! SOOOO GOOOOD! Those of you who know me know that I don’t typically offer such praise.

Their captivating harmonies, lyrics and unforgettable live performances have led them to being one of Bellingham’s most popular live music acts…

The Unknowns have a new EP out. “Uninvited” is a delightful five-song collection that shows off some cool soul and tango influences in addition to the band's usual jazz/pop/folk mix and superb three-part harmonies. Don’t let their ironic naming fool you; you’re going to want to invite this band in and get to know them.
