Johnny played at my father’s graveside funeral and did a really phenomenal job. He was extremely professional and communication was excellent. He tailored the songs to exactly what we were looking for and his bagpipe music set a beautiful tone for the service. I couldn’t be happier. Don’t hesitate if you’re looking for bagpipe music for your event.

John was so incredibly professional from beginning to end. He asked so many questions regarding our wishes to make sure to give us the experience we needed. When I didn’t really know what I wanted and wasn’t sure what to even ask for, he offered so many wonderful ideas for my father’s memorial that I didn’t even think to ask. It made all the difference. His performance elevated my father’s Memorial to a whole new level. Everyone felt it was so special.

We wanted a bagpiper for the graveside service of my niece in the Orem City Cemetery. Johnny was simply amazing! His songs were spot on what we had requested. I wanted a special surprise for my wife's 60th birthday party. She's a first generation Scottish immigrant, and has very strong ties to her heritage and family there. At quite short notice, I came up with the idea to find a piper to pipe in the birthday cake into the house like the haggis is piped in at a traditional Burns Supper.

Johnny exceeded my expectations and made this a memorable night for my wife, our family, and our guests. He played Happy Birthday and a selection of traditional Scottish songs, including many of my wife's favorites. He also spent time talking about the bagpipes and the traditional kilt, tartan and some of his experiences in playing in competition pipe bands.

Johnny helped my family and I to remember my brother-in-law that died unexpectedly at his graveside service the day before Thanksgiving. He made himself available for any questions/needs prior to the day. Even took a late request on the day and made the service meaningful for those attending. He arrived half an hour early and on time (as he said he would). Took time to familiarize himself with where he was going to play. The weather, unfortunately turned unexpectedly cold however, that did not deter him. He showed his professionalism and respect for the moment at hand and played. The songs were played with love and passion and were simply beautiful. He is a true gentleman and a Scotsman at heart. I am deeply grateful for what he did and I highly recommend Johnny and his services. He even took time after all was done to let the kids enjoy a lesson in bagpiping.

I needed to surprise the president of our company for his birthday — and I realized at 11:30 p.m. the night before that I hadn’t planned anything. Our VP wanted us to do something totally crazy and unexpected, especially since our president hates birthdays.

Thank God for ChatGPT, which gave me the idea to hire a bagpipe player to play “Happy Birthday” — and that’s how I found Johnny. I messaged him through the website, and he responded within 30 minutes. He said he could do it, and honestly, he was amazing to work with from start to finish.

Each year, our elementary school holds a Music March Madness event where we explore a variety of musical styles and then vote each week to see which songs will move on to the next round! After weeks of learning and voting, “Fight Song/Amazing Grace” by the Piano Guys came out on top! With bagpipes being a key element in this fantastic piece, we thought it would be a great experience for the students to hear a bagpipe performing at school! To help in this celebration, Johnny Miner welcomed them to school with his incredible skill on the bagpipes out on the playground while the sun rose in the sky! The students danced, cheered, and for many of them, were able to hear a bagpipe live for the first time. He also taught them about how this instrument works and let some of them experience it up close. Johnny was great to work with. He communicated with us in a timely manner, answered our questions, and arrived early to be ready for the event. If we ever need help from a bagpiper in the future, I would love the change to get to work with Johnny Miner again! It was an unforgettable experience for our school community!

I hired Johnny as a surprise for my sister’s birthday party over the 4th of July weekend and everything went perfectly! He was on time, played upbeat, patriotic songs, and the happy birthday song, made a cool entrance, AND even came to us at Jordanelle Reservoir. Everyone was so entertained! He even stayed after and chatted with people and gave us neat info about the bagpipes and his traditional Scottish garb. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience - thank you Johnny!

Ok, me and my family truly value our culture. Unfortunately the uncles and Dad's have passed on that play the pipes. I've used Johnny twice now for a celebration for life and my nephews wedding over the weekend. He knocked out our of the park every time. It's funny, everyone wants his number for events etc even if they aren't scottish lol. HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming from a very deep Scottish culture. Mr. Miner played his bagpipe for my wife’s funeral, specifically at the graveside service and it was beautiful. He played a few songs as prelude and as her casket was being moved to the grave. He then stood at attention during the service and then as it concluded he slowly walked away playing ‘til we meet again. I’m tearing up again as I write this because it was beautiful and perfect and peaceful. His formal Scottish attire was immaculate and his decorum was very respectful. I’m not sure if I will ever need his services again but if I do I will track him down again. (Or have my children get him to play at my funeral someday 😢).

Our mother passed away unexpectedly and to our surprise her last written wishes for her funeral service included having a bagpiper. This was a pleasant surprise for our family, however, we didn't know where to start to secure one, (especially on a late Saturday night evening). Johnny Miner and his services had great reviews and his website and credentials were very impressive. I filled out the brief questionnaire, including the date and occasion - thinking I wouldn't hear back until the weekend was over, and to my surprise and great relief, Johnny called me right away and offered his condolences asking how he could help. He'll never know the weight he lifted from our shoulders by being so kind, compassionate, helpful ,and willing to offer his talents to fulfill our mother's dying wish. We opted for him to play as our mother was carried out of the funeral services and into the hurst as well as at the gravesite. By the time we were gathered at the cemetery, Johnny was already in position, dressed professionally in the traditional kilt and clothing showing the upmost respect to our mother and our grieving family members playing a medley of her favorite songs. If you are fortunate to book with Johnny Miner, your event will be enhanced and stress free. He knows what he is doing and allows you to take care of all of the other details in a difficult situation without a worry as to his part. As my siblings and I were assisting our father with planning out his memorial services, he had requested bagpipes be played. I began searching Google for pipers in my area and found 4 different providers. I emailed each one individually and within minutes of sending those emails Johnny was calling my phone. The way Johnny interacted with me over the phone and spoke with so much reverence and respect for my father, someone Johnny had never met, won me over almost instantly. Johnny acknowledged his availability on the day of the memorial services and then helped walk me through different ideas and musical numbers during our chat, he provided his pricing and explained every single detail possible so that I was fully informed of my options. I took notes and explained I would reach out to him after the family had made a decision on who we would select. I only heard back from 2 additional providers and they both were more expensive than Johnny and offered the same services...Johnny kept in contact with me very professionally, he wasn't aggressive or pushy, he simply checked in and asked if I needed anything or had questions before we had made our decision. Once we had verified that we wanted Johnny to be our piper, he checked in with me daily a couple of days before the day of the memorial services and verified he was ready and honored to be involved. The day of service Johnny arrived early, looking extremely proper and professional in his attire. He performed 2 musical numbers for the service and did such an amazing job, it was absolutely beautiful and set the perfect tone for what we were trying to accomplish. I could not ask for a better experience. After the services concluded, Johnny joined us graveside to pay his respects for my father, expressed his condolences to me and my family and expressed his gratitude for being in attendance, and being able to perform. Johnny is a fantastic guy and possess top shelf musical talent. There is no way you could have a bad experience with this guy. I have every intention of finding other events that we can hire Johnny for, because he is that great. He knows his stuff and demonstrates extreme pride and professionalism in everything he does.
