From Bach to Vieuxtemps, from Germany to Finland to Argentina, I play classical music on viola. I have a little experience with fiddle music. I can take requests as well, since I can play by ear and arrange music on the side.

For my instrument, I need an indoor or covered outdoor space. For dimensions, think if you can reach your arms up and around without colliding with anything, and that's the basic spatial need.
If it's indoor vs. outdoor, and if there will be a cover to protect from elements if outdoor. The ideal temperature range is generally between 60°F and 70°F. Do you want me to be background music or be the main event? This helps me know whether to do introductions for each piece or not.
For most spaces, I do not require any technical equipment such as lighting or sound reinforcement. If requested, I would need a microphone for announcing and introducing the story of pieces that I play.
No, this is not in my expertise, and I am not comfortable providing this.
As far as private events go, I've had a great experience working with Dick Withnell and his philanthropy work. I played a private concert at a dinner in which he was facilitating conversation about the Salem, OR Family YMCA.
I like doing private concerts, weddings, and private events such as fundraisers, retirement centers, and dinners. The private concerts are probably my favorite, since I can tell stories and connect my audience with the music in ways that can't be done with the music alone.
My first gig was for a wedding in which I composed music for my brother and I to play throughout the event. I was in middle school then, and one of my peers was a child of the client. I've done private dinners, reitrement home events, home concerts, a birthday party, and recording sessions for composers.
I love Varijashree Venugopal, Bill Wurtz, Jeff Williams, and Bayside, so all different types and genres. Violists that I look up to include Antoine Tamestit, Melia Watras, and Timothy Ridout.
I started playing viola in 4th grade in my public school system. I studied privately with Sean Williams and Holland Phillips. My Bachelor of Music is from Brigham Young University, and my Master of Music is from Indiana University.
I don't require much setup (maybe 15 minutes tops), and my usual performance times are thirty minutes to an hour, but I also love the challenge of programming any length of time (within reason).
If I am to play outside, it must be in a shaded area. Additionally, the temperature must be moderate, as my instrument is fragile and warps in extreme heat or cold.
I can play by ear (learned that in my fiddling days), so I can take requests on the spot if I recognize a title and have heard it before. If given enough preparation time, I can also arrange and transcribe music for my instrument. I have over seven years of transcription and music notation software experience.
Previous clients would describe my performances as intimate, encapturing, and evocative.
My viola was made in 2005 by Devon Hokanson, a relative of mine. I love having both a personal connection and a high-quality instrument.
