Review Centre: Steel Drum Players

"When planning my daughter's wedding, which was always destined to be a multicultural blend of music genres, styles, and rhythmic offerings, I was set on finding that flair to entertain our guests with a little taste of their own familiar music and I happened upon the One Man Steel Drum Band on a popular gig website. With the union of the kids spanning the globe and including West Indian, Latin, and Russian culture, this was a perfect choice! Upon establishing contact with John Skoczen, I realized very quickly that he would be an effective and professional communicator who cared not only about his role in our event but also the appeal of such things as attire, the set list, any particular requests related to the guests, and the full gamut of helping us to make our event delightful. John consistently maintained contact with me regarding updates, directions, and special elements. No portions of our interactions were confusing for me. He was so patient and understanding upon arriving at the venue whereas I was as a scattered and frazzled mother of the bride and coordinator. "Professional and delightful We had Chris provide music for the cocktail hour of an engagement party. He was professional, on time, a one man band. Guests were delighted by the live music and it added some sparkle to the party. Everyone loves steel drum. "

"Julie and her team were great! They were all very professional and sounded amazing. Our videographer seemed to have missed the audio recording of the big moment when I entered the ceremony and walked down the aisle. Julie and her team have graciously offered to re record this specialized music so I have it forever!"

"We were blessed with the soothing and energizing sounds of this steelpan player at our Church Cultural Sunday event. We had the pleasure of enjoying his "live" playing and singing a fantastic gospel repetoire in various genres. It was definitely "Music for the Soul" as we connected with each other and had beautiful fellowship dancing together. We also enjoyed his smiles and interactions with the children as they keenly inspected his instrument and pan sticks. He made our day complete and authentic. Very punctual, flexible and independent too. We are looking forward to having him play at many of our other events and celebrations. Cheers Dereck !! :-)"

"Jessica was an incredible addition to our wedding day! She performed during the ceremony and cocktail hour at our wedding this past September. Working with Jessica was an absolute pleasure - she was so personable, professional, and overall great to work with! She is an incredibly talented pianist and can perform almost anything, given how broad her repertoire of songs to select from is! We wanted a mix of HipHop/RnB/Top 40 covers during the cocktail hour, and she performed so many of our favourites! What was extra special was that she performed the song we selected for our first dance as one of the songs in the processional (not a common song!). Our guests raved about how beautiful her performance was and she provided that extra special touch on our wedding day. 10/10, 5 stars. I highly recommend working with Jessica for live music at your wedding or next event, she is amazing! Thank you Jessica for your beautiful music and for being such a great addition to our day!"

"Morning I can't thankyou and your team enough for making our Caribbean Cruise Dinner last night so special, I asked you when we first meet to make an impact and OMG you totally achieved that and set the tone form the start of the evening. This is the first time since I been a member at Old Thorns and attending these dinners, that at breakfast this morning everyone was not talking Golf, they were talking about Dancers, the singer and you So we achieved the aim and people will still dancing at midnight, so once again Thank you Steve, Steph and of course Big Dave"
