Review Centre: Musical Acts

"Rick Holland and his band played our wedding on August 28, 2010. Rick could not have been more accommodating to my husband and my wants and needs for music at the wedding. We communicated through email, over the phone, and met with each other once to go over the details. Rick was very thorough and always set our minds at ease. During our ceremony, his quartet played us up the aisle with a romantic song and down the aisle with ''Fireworks'' which set the mood for the festive evening to begin. The cocktail hour began immediately following the ceremony and Rick''s band did not miss a beat....the little big band entertained guests while they mingled and got a bite to eat. When the wedding party was ready to be announced, Rick took the microphone as we were all introduced. After the speeches were out of the way, Rick and the band let loose! With a full band and two singers, a male and a female, we partied for the next four hours! The guests were dancing, singing, and truly having a great time as did we! The band definitely made the night! The songs were exactly what we requested and the sound quality was superb. I would gladly book Rick and his band for another occasion as well as recommend them. "David has been playing our annual event for the past 2 years and we’ve already booked him again for this year. He plays a great mix of songs and he’s happy to play requests when possible. Great for small parties, backyard mixers and similar!"

"Recently booked Venus and Mars to play at my wedding. The whole booking was easy and quick. Band kept in touch before the date which was a weight off my mind I didn’t have to chase them up for anything. They arrived the night before the wedding and set up and did a sound check in plenty of time. The performance was world class, everyone has been complimenting us on choice of band, specifically we asked for a Pink Floyd song as it was my late father in laws favourite. The guitar player played comfortably numb and there wasn’t a dry eye in the hall. Incredible! Very professional! Great people to be around! Highly recommended!"

"Mr. Slava Gelfand is an excellent violinist and an overall superior performer. He worked with me before the performance to tailor it to be exactly what I wanted. He carried out that exact style and flavor to his music. He blends well into the background of the setting. Yet all guests were drawn to his beautiful music and his comments made before each piece was played. He was as one of the guests with tremendous talent. I will surely use him again. Dianne Smith"

"What a great night, Stevie k is a true entertainer. The dance floor was full all night. He performed 80s, Ska and reggae and did over 2 hours. We will definitely rebooking "

"Rory was a big hit at our wedding! He played excellent renditions of our ceremony songs and kept our guests thoroughly entertained in the library and on the terrace. His talent on the sax really added a fantastic atmosphere to our day and so many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. We would definitely recommend him!"

"Great service, very professional, and our guests all paid us compliments on the musical entertainment. Paolo was unbeatable on the piano, the violinist who accompanied the civil ceremony literally brought us to tears with emotion, and the singer was incredible, getting us dancing for as long as possible. Outstanding work!"

"The entire band was kind, professional and talented musicians. They put on an incredible show. Their performance of a variety of songs from many genres allowed for our staff, of many generations, to enjoy music that is recognizable and fun! They brought so much positive energy and kept the people there up until late. That’s a testament to the quality of their musicianship and draw. They communicated well with Smokey our sound and lights guy and myself prior to the event for all the lead up logistics. Craig is a great band lead and is pleasant to work with for the event. This band exceeded our expectations!"
