Reviews of 1940s Era Musicians & Bands based near Florence

Photo of Chill and Chic by Nalìs Chill and Chic by Nalìs "Annalisa, Michele and Roberto were our trio for one of the most magical nights we could've hoped for. They are incredibly talented, and it was absolutely the highlight of our trip to Italy. WOW!! Thank you for making our night feel like a dream. They were fun, professional, kind and the pure JOY was very evident as they each shared their God-given gifts. <3 Thank you for a moment we'll never forget." Based in Florence, Tuscany Jill Colclasure Photo of Denise Giardino Denise Giardino "Review for Denise Giardino. I have had the pleasure, for some years now, of knowing the singer Denise Giardino. From the first time I had the opportunity to listen to her live, I was very impressed by her voice and interpretive ability. I had listened to many artists, also in the USA, on various occasions, but Denise's artistic interpretation struck me very much for being unique and very particular. Having listened to "covers" the first time, but also later having been able to listen to unreleased songs, Denise's interpretive particularity combines artistically with a warm vocal timbre, whose vibration directly recalls great interpreters of American soul, jazz and blues music. Always accompanied by great masters with guitar, saxophone, keyboards and other instruments, her vocalizations penetrate the listener's soul with unique and singular artistic intensity, I repeat, worthy of the greatest interpreters that the history of jazz music can remember. Geographically perhaps not in the best place to bring out and appreciate her innate artistic qualities, Denise Giardino, if she had been born in the USA, would certainly already be known and would have had an "artistic" echo certainly of greater importance, as she certainly deserves. On the occasion of her much appreciated musical performances in Florence for international celebrations with the Lakota Sioux nation and in the presence of American actor Mr Moses Brings Plenty, (recently appeared in various Paramount Pictures series such as Yellowstone and LawMan), Mr. "Mo" could not help but express his fervent appreciation for Denise Giardino's musical performances, defining her worthy of the most important artistic events in Hollywood. Without doubt Denise Giardino is a singer of considerable musical-interpretive depth, capable of making the hearts and souls of the audience vibrate who will have the privilege of listening to her. Of significant depth are the Italian songs written and performed by her, poems of the soul, to make hearts vibrate. With sincere respect Prof. Dr. Alessandro Martire Representative in Italy of the Lakota Sioux Nation- Rosebud" Translated from Italian Based in Florence, Tuscany Prof. Dr. Alessandro Martire - Rappresentante in Italia della Nazione Lakota Sioux Photo of Tea For Three Swing Band Tea For Three Swing Band "This band was INCREDIBLE. Better even in real life. very professional, customized their set for us and made the party come to life. THANK YOU" Based in Florence, Tuscany Evan Dell'Aquila - Evan Photo of Ferdi Argenti Ferdi Argenti "What Ferdie can do that nobody else does (to the extent that he does it) is sing his heart out, and then play his heart out-- his vocal and instrumental expressions are equally strong. It's not like he's trying to get a gig at the local Holiday Inn lounge, no!--he belongs in the concert hall! Larry Coryell (from the liner notes to "Look for the silver lining" album by Ferdinando Argenti" Based in Fucecchio, Tuscany (23 miles from Florence) Larry Coryell - Internationally known jazz guitarist Photo of Just FM Dixie Band Just FM Dixie Band "We had the absolute pleasure of having FM Dixie perform at our daughter’s wedding in Italy. They were outstanding! Their music and entertainment was such a highlight for the day for the entire group. This is how they were used throughout the day for our event: • Greeting the shuttle vans with wedding guests as they all arrived at the Castello • Escorting the group up from the drop off location across the path and across the drawbridge to the Castello • Entertaining guests during a brief pause for prosecco until it was time to escort guests to the ceremony location (Castello terrace) • Following the ceremony, escorting guests from the terrace to the location for the aperitifs/welcome buffet (opposite end of the Castello by the pool) • Music throughout the aperitifs/welcome buffet for a couple of hours. • Escorting guests when it was time from the location by the pool up to the Castello courtyard for dinner FM Dixie were fantastic in the quality of their music and in how well they entertain, adapt and engage with the wedding guests! They exceeded our expectations in all respects. Thank you to the wonderful FM Dixie quintet that added so much magic to our event!"
