Acoustic acts are the usual answer when a venue has a noise limiter or the ceremony is outdoors, since most can play with very little amplification or none at all. Ask how the band handles the quieter parts of the day: many will cover a drinks reception and dinner as a duo, then bring the full line-up out for the evening.

Acoustic bands in Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia play unplugged or lightly amplified, which suits ceremonies, drinks receptions and rooms with a sound limit. Most work from popular songs rearranged for acoustic instruments, and many offer a smaller line-up for the daytime and a fuller one after dinner.
Outdoor ceremonies, marquees and rooms with a strict noise limit are the obvious cases, because an acoustic set carries without a PA fighting the limiter. They also suit long events where the music has to sit under conversation for part of the day and lead it later. Ask whether the band brings its own small PA, since even acoustic acts usually want vocal reinforcement in a larger room.
Rates for a duo in Port Douglas start at $240 and rise to $2,900+ for a five-piece with full instrumentation, with most bookings around $800. Line-up size is the main variable, followed by how many hours of playing you need and how far the band travels.
The average price for Acoustic Bands available in Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia is $800 (AUD). Above you will also find a budget price and high end price. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.

Bassline
"If you’re looking for a band for any kind of function or event, stop looking and just hire Bassline Studios. They played at our wedding recently and were just incredible. From creating intimate moments in our ceremony, to a relaxed vibe during our cocktail hour, to the best dance party at our reception - they did it all. I’ve never seen a band engage with a crowd so much, as what they did with us all on the dance floor. They helped us have the most amazing night, and our guests are still raving about how great they were.
I knew this band was going to be great though even before the night. Sometimes you meet people and get such a good feeling from them that you just know you can trust them to do a good job. Bernadette was like that for us. She was a delight to meet with prior to the wedding, and was so lovely and flexible with us, as we had to navigate through 3 wedding attempts due to COVID. We can’t thank her enough for her genuine care and enthusiasm that she gave us for our wedding.
I cant recommend Bassline Studios highly enough."

Duo Acoustic
"The band were amazing and really made our night. The guests were really enjoying the music as they are lively and the songs choice were great. Ed and Simone set up everything by themselves and Iet me worry free, also very easy to deal with, they even asked me what would i like them to wear also. They were perfectly in tune and everything was excellent."
Slumberjacks
"The band members, very respectful and responsible, arrived on time and were very professional at all times.
But honestly, we felt very disappointed that when contacting this band, we were specific about confirming if they played certain songs, certain artists, including rock and roll songs, which was the main concept of the party including decoration, etc. A party obviously centered on the birthday person for their 80th birthday, and the band played a selection of music that wasn’t what we requested. So, sorry for the honesty, but in that sense, we were very very disappointed. The idea was to hear the birthday person’s favorite songs, and that didn’t happen. That was the main reason we decided to invest in a band instead of going to a nightclub to listen to random music."
