About / Biography

šŸ˜Make your event feel like a movie scene.šŸŽ»

I’m Yohan, a Sri Lankan-born violinist delivering live, modern-meets-classic violin for weddings, surprise proposals, corporate events, birthdays, dinner dances, and more. I’ve performed at a wide range of cultural celebrations, including many Sri Lankan and Indian events, and I’m confident in tailoring the vibe for any crowd—from romantic ceremony moments to elegant background ambience to high-energy favourites.

As a bonus, I can play almost any song you love (and I’m happy to learn special requests) to make your event feel personal and unforgettable.

If you tell me

(1) your event type,

(2) the vibe (Romantic/Classy / Party)

(3) must-play songs,

I can tweak the best option into a perfectly targeted version for your exact audience.

  • I come fully equipped with my own professional sound system, so you don’t need to worry about audio or setup.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I’m very easy to accommodate — I just need one standard power point (GPO) and a small space to set up my sound and perform. I bring all the equipment I need.

What information do you require about a venue?

Please provide the exact venue address (and any entry/loading instructions), plus parking availability close to the load-in area. I also need to know if there are any sound restrictions/limiters, and whether the performance is indoors or outdoors (so I can plan the best setup).

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes — I’m fully self-contained and provide my own professional sound system. It’s suitable for up to 300 guests indoors or 200 guests outdoors (depending on the venue and conditions). (Lighting available on request if needed.)

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes — I can play a Spotify or YouTube playlist before and between sets. If you’d like music after my performance time, I’m happy to provide it for an additional charge (or you’re welcome to provide your own playlist/device).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

One of my best gigs was performing at a wedding with a crowd of around 5,000 — it genuinely felt cinematic. The venue, the production, the sound, and the atmosphere were all at the highest level, and the energy from the guests made it unforgettable. I’ve played for concerts and film-music events as well, but that wedding was a different feeling for me — it was a once-in-a-lifetime vibe and a real highlight of my career.

What's your favourite type of event?

My favourite events are weddings and surprise proposals. I genuinely enjoy every event I play, but there’s something unforgettable about being part of a couple’s most emotional moment—the nerves, the joy, the happy tears. It feels like an honour to help create that memory, and I’m proud to be a small part of a moment they’ll carry for the rest of their lives.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started my music journey in Sri Lanka, where I had the chance to work alongside well-known artists and contribute my violin to a range of original songs—some of those releases went on to reach millions of views, which was a huge milestone for me and helped shape my style and professionalism.

After moving to Australia, I began gigging by performing in restaurants, intimate parties, and small functions. From there, things grew quickly—because whenever I played one event, people who enjoyed the music would recommend me and I’d receive new bookings through word of mouth. That organic support has been the most meaningful part of my journey, and it’s what keeps me focused on giving every audience a special experience.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

Typically, my standard booking is 1 hour of live performance. Setup is simple — I need access to one power outlet to plug in my sound system. Because I perform wirelessly (no cables or wired connections), I can move around the venue and play among your guests, which creates a more interactive and memorable experience.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, absolutely — I’m happy to perform outdoors. I need access to a power outlet for my speaker/sound system, and I’ll take care of the rest.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Yes — clients absolutely have a say. I have a versatile repertoire I can tailor to your event, and you’re welcome to share your preferred style, ā€œmust-playā€ songs, and any ā€œdo-not-playā€ requests. I’m also happy to learn a special song for key moments (like the aisle entry or proposal), as long as I have a little notice.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous clients most commonly describe my performances as unforgettable, professional, and full of energy. A lot of people tell me it’s the best live violin they’ve ever seen, and many clients rebook me for multiple events—birthdays, weddings, corporate functions, and family celebrations—which has helped me build a strong regular client base. I’m proud to say I’ve never received a negative review, and I always aim to leave guests talking about the experience long after the event ends.
