Violinists / Fiddlers for Hire in Melbourne

Hire Violinists / Fiddlers in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Violinists in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia cover a broad spectrum of styles for events across your area. Solo acoustic performers handle classical ceremony music and background sets for dinners and receptions, while electric violin players bring high-energy chart covers and dance music with backing tracks. Traditional fiddle players are a popular pick for folk-themed celebrations and cultural events near you.

Choosing a Violin Player for Your Event

The right performer depends on the type of event and the atmosphere you want to create. Classical violin suits formal ceremonies, drinks receptions and corporate dinners. Electric violin works well for livelier moments such as evening receptions, product launches and milestone parties. Many local violin players offer both acoustic and electric options within a single booking, transitioning between styles as the event progresses. It is worth asking about repertoire, set lengths and any additional equipment they bring.

Pricing for Violinists in Melbourne

Rates for violin players in Melbourne begin at about $240 for a single short set, with most quotes coming in near $650 and experienced electric acts carrying their own sound equipment reaching $1,650+. Set length drives the figure more than anything else, followed by whether the performance is acoustic or electric and how far the player travels. Learning a specific piece for a processional or first dance usually adds a small fee, and covering a ceremony and an evening reception together costs more than a single set. Ask for a written quote that states set length, arrival time and the rate if the schedule overruns.
