He read the mood of the room perfectly, playing songs which got even the most timid of guests up and dancing. He even played a little Mr & Mrs spin off, which was a perfect way to get the guests away from the buffet and onto the dancefloor. "When Richard Ellis Hawley came out to New Zealand to visit Family and friends I took the opportunity to ask Richard if he would come and play the piano at the local rest home that I was doing voluntary work and Richard came and played to the residents for a couple of hours. Richard played a variety of songs from the era that the residents grew up with they loved him playing it was just wonderful it bought back memories to the residents and put a smile on their faces in fact they didn't want Richard to finish. Also I asked Richard for a CD he made of all his friends favourite songs including mine Unforgettable which was posted over to me in New Zealand where I live and I play it to my friends. Richard is a very gifted and talented musician would recommend him for all occasions."
