Most of what decides whether a booking runs smoothly is settled before the band arrives, and it depends on the room. Venues in British Columbia, Canada range from function suites with a house PA and a fixed curfew to marquees and outdoor terraces where everything has to be carried in, and the same five-piece behaves quite differently in each.
A four or five-piece needs roughly 4 by 3 metres of flat, dry floor, more once a drum riser or a brass section is involved, plus two or three power sockets within reach of the stage area. Check the load-in route early, because stairs, a long carry from the car park, or a lift too small for a bass cabinet all add time, and some acts charge for it. Ask about a sound limiter before you commit to anything: a limiter set low will cut the power mid-song, and there is no way around it once you are there. Curfews work the same way, since an 11pm finish moves the whole running order earlier than most people expect.
Saturdays in peak season and the whole of December go first, often a year out, so the band you want can end up fixing your date rather than the other way round. Distance shows up on a quote as travel, and occasionally as accommodation when the finish time makes the drive home impractical. Friday and Sunday bookings widen the field considerably if the date is flexible. Ask what the travel figure covers, since some acts price it into the fee within a set radius and charge separately beyond it.
Most bookings in British Columbia come in around $1,400 for two live sets, with duos and trios below that and larger lineups with brass or extra vocalists above it. What varies more than the headline figure is what sits inside it. Check what the quote covers: travel, a DJ set or playlist between sets, and how long the band plays in total rather than how many sets they perform. Most acts take a deposit to hold the date with the balance due close to the event, and overtime is normally charged in half-hour blocks, so agree the finish time in writing rather than on the night.

Scotty Swan
"Professional, easy to work with, and incredibly talented. The mellow jazz and pop vibes were exactly what we wanted early on, and the energy shift later was seamless. Guests kept asking where the music was coming from."
Colton Brewer
"Words can not describe how impressed we are with the talent Colton Brewer has, backed by being a humble New Brunswicker. Colton’s voice captivated the audience and quickly gained fans with the style and range of music. We’re proud to have had Colton perform at our brewery and welcome him back anytime!

Dirt Road Rebels
"This band did not disappoint. They were very professional and when asked they catered to our requests. They performed Authentic Country music from both old and new artists, and with great singers. It felt like we were at a concert."
Annika & the Earthlings
"Thanks for a fantastic evening!
We have booked our next year's Christmas event, on Dec 5, 2026. Same venue. I would love if we can have the band play for us again!!!
Kindly confirm.

Moving Lines
"“Powerful voice “Moving Lines - Love the way she sings very flattering stardom vocalist. audiences suggesting. their penchant for excess and the hyper-intense of their music is great. Based on their excellent band”. Moving Lines - the lead singer-songwriter has her words perfectly establish what’s to follow. Across the record’s “Dreams Will Never Die “ is one of the best vocalists I’ve heard for a while. The highlighting that the band developments and will be successes are ultimately their own reward for the experimentation on display. Great Work…..”"
Playing With Fire
"Hello..I, along with friends, have seen this band twice in the last couple of months..once at St. Albert casino and then at Newcastle in Edmonton..our group dances all night so appreciate a good band that keeps us on the dance floor..this band, PLAYING WITH FIRE, did just that..it was a very fun night. Apparently, in the near future, they are going to be playing some new songs..interested to see what they have in store. If anything like the present we will be happy to see them live again. Check this band out. You will be happy you did."
