Solo guitar works at almost every point of an event, from ceremony music and drinks receptions through to relaxed evening sets. Before requesting quotes, it helps to decide where live music sits in your day: quiet background playing during food, a featured moment such as a first dance, or both. That decision shapes the set list, the equipment a performer brings and the price you are quoted.
A typical booking covers two 45-minute sets or three 40-minute sets with breaks in between, though most performers will adjust timings to fit around speeches, courses and other entertainment. For drinks receptions, many guitarists play longer, lighter sets at background volume; for evening slots, expect shorter and more energetic performances. Agree the running order in advance and decide who will cue the performer on the day, so timing changes reach them quickly.
Indoor setups are simple: a chair, a small clear area and a nearby socket cover most performances. Outdoor ceremonies and garden parties need more thought. Ask whether the performer can bring a battery amplifier or play fully acoustic where there is no power, check noise policies and finish times with your venue before booking an amplified evening set, and make sure there is somewhere dry and shaded for both the performer and the instrument.
Guitar players mostly quote per set rather than per hour, with rates in the Netherlands starting from about €110 for a single instrumental set, typical bookings around €350 and singer-guitarists bringing their own PA reaching €1,000+. Longer performances, weekend and peak-season dates, and sets that include vocals all push quotes up. When comparing quotes, check what each includes: amplification, travel and time to learn requested songs are sometimes itemised separately. Booking ceremony and reception music with the same performer often costs less than hiring two separate acts.
The average price is €350 (EUR), with most priced from €110 to €1,000+. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.

Davina
"Davina gave a truly fantastic performance at our 40th wedding anniversary party yesterday. What a wonderful singer! She has a beautiful, powerful voice and sings perfectly in tune. Her repertoire is very extensive and perfectly suited to the audience and the atmosphere of the party. For us pleasantly in the background and later in the day a bit more in the foreground. She knows exactly how to bring the right music at the right moment. Thanks in part to her performance, it was an unforgettable day for us and our guests. Davina, thank you so much!"
