How much does it cost to hire Guitarists in Lake District?

£Low price

from£850GBP

Guitar players mostly quote per set rather than per hour, with rates in Lake District starting from about £100 for a single instrumental set, typical bookings around £260 and singer-guitarists bringing their own PA reaching £850+. Longer performances, weekend and peak-season dates, and sets that include vocals all push quotes up. When comparing quotes, check what each includes: amplification, travel and time to learn requested songs are sometimes itemised separately. Booking ceremony and reception music with the same performer often costs less than hiring two separate acts. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.

Based in Penrith, England Gemma Scott - Charity Event Photo of Howard Haigh Howard Haigh "He’s a precision musician with a vivid imagination" Based in Lancaster, England Dennis Kilcommons - Huddersfield Examiner Photo of The Distance The Distance "Soph & Matt played for our wedding in September and were absolutely fantastic! Not only did they include songs we had requested for the playlist but knew how to play perfectly for the crowd. All guests loved them, from our 5 year old cousins and friends in their twenties to parents and my 80 year old nan-in-law. The dance floor was never empty - I can testify that all dancers never stopped moving. I want to thank Soph & Matt for making our wedding reception, it was truly amazing and guests are still talking about them nearly 5 months on. An awesome wedding band!" Based in Bolton, England Laura Kelly Photo of Stevie M Stevie M "Steve is an excellent vocalist and all round fantastic entertainer. The crowd absolutely love him. He reads an audience well and adapts songs to suit and everyone has a fantastic night. His voice is superb and everyone is up dancing! I am lucky enough to see Steve perform often, and I would highly recommend him for any booking. You will not be disappointed! See you soon Steve!" Thank you so much for playing such a great part of our day! You are such a talent. We wouldn't have picked anyone else and will keep you in mind for the future as well as refer you to people! Hope you got home safely. Maria and Jim x" Based in St Helens, England Maria and Jim - Wedding

Frequently asked questions

The average price for guitarists on Gig Heaven is £260, with rates ranging from £100 to £850+. Cost depends on performance duration, the guitarist's experience and whether the booking is for background music or a full live set. Guitarists on the platform cover a wide range of styles including classical, jazz, blues, rock, flamenco and pop.

The guitarists for hire cover a huge range of styles including classical, jazz, blues, flamenco, rock, pop, folk, fingerstyle and acoustic covers. Many guitarists are versatile performers who can switch between styles during an event to suit different moments.

Popular occasions for hiring guitarists include wedding ceremonies, drinks receptions, corporate dinners, private parties, restaurant entertainment and ambient background music. A solo guitarist provides versatile, elegant live music that suits both intimate and larger settings.

Most guitarists are happy to learn specific songs for key moments such as a ceremony entrance or first dance. Many have extensive repertoires covering popular songs, classical pieces and jazz standards. It is advisable to discuss song requests with the guitarist well in advance.

Many guitarists on Gig Heaven play both electric and acoustic guitar and can choose the instrument that best suits the event. Acoustic guitar provides a warm, intimate sound for ceremonies and dining, while electric guitar is better for rock, blues and higher-energy performances.

For small, quiet settings, many guitarists can perform acoustically. For larger venues, outdoor events or noisier environments, a small amplifier or PA system is usually needed. Most guitarists bring their own amplification. For the best experience, discuss the venue size with the performer.

One player can usually cover the whole day, moving from processional and signing music during the ceremony to background playing over drinks and dinner. Timings are agreed in advance, since the ceremony music has fixed cues while the reception is more flexible. Where the ceremony and the reception are in different spaces, allow time to move and set up between them.

Most bookings run to two or three hours of playing time, split into sets with breaks, though the total time on site is longer once setup and soundcheck are added. Shorter ceremony-only bookings of around 40 minutes are common and are priced differently. Ask for playing time rather than hours on site, as the two are not the same.

Outdoor playing is common for ceremonies and garden receptions, and most players are happy to do it given shade and a level surface. Direct sun and damp both affect a wooden instrument, so a covered area is worth arranging even in settled weather. Wind carries sound away quickly, so amplification is usually needed outdoors even for a small number of guests.

Booking as early as possible increases the chance of securing your supplier's availability on your event date, particularly during busy times of the year. However, many suppliers also accept last minute bookings, and we have successfully arranged bookings for clients with just a few hours' notice.

Contact the supplier you are interested in booking by clicking "Contact Now" on their listing. Discuss your requirements using our messaging system or join a video meeting (like a Zoom-call) to speak face-to-face. Once you are ready to confirm your booking, simply ask the supplier to send you a contract, which you can agree to online, or request amendments. Once you agree to the contract you will be asked to pay a 10% booking fee to confirm the booking, with the balance payable directly to the supplier by the due date you've agreed on.
