Solo guitar works at almost every point of an event, from ceremony music and drinks receptions through to relaxed evening sets. Before requesting quotes, it helps to decide where live music sits in your day: quiet background playing during food, a featured moment such as a first dance, or both. That decision shapes the set list, the equipment a performer brings and the price you are quoted.
A typical booking covers two 45-minute sets or three 40-minute sets with breaks in between, though most performers will adjust timings to fit around speeches, courses and other entertainment. For drinks receptions, many guitarists play longer, lighter sets at background volume; for evening slots, expect shorter and more energetic performances. Agree the running order in advance and decide who will cue the performer on the day, so timing changes reach them quickly.
Indoor setups are simple: a chair, a small clear area and a nearby socket cover most performances. Outdoor ceremonies and garden parties need more thought. Ask whether the performer can bring a battery amplifier or play fully acoustic where there is no power, check noise policies and finish times with your venue before booking an amplified evening set, and make sure there is somewhere dry and shaded for both the performer and the instrument.
Guitar players in Nottingham mostly quote per set rather than per hour, starting from about £100 for a single instrumental set, with typical bookings around £250 and singer-guitarists bringing their own PA reaching £800+. Longer performances, weekend and peak-season dates, and sets that include vocals all push quotes up. When comparing quotes, check what each includes: amplification, travel and time to learn requested songs are sometimes itemised separately. Booking ceremony and reception music with the same performer often costs less than hiring two separate acts.
The average price for Guitarists available in Nottingham, England, United Kingdom is £250 (GBP). Above you will also find a budget price and high end price. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.

Dale David
"Dale was absolutely great! The residents really enjoyed the mix of music that Dale offered. He was interactive with the residents and we look forward to welcoming Dale back to our Care Home."
Adam Wallace Classical/Pop Guitarist
"Adam was a delight to work with in the runup to our wedding (very responsive and friendly in all contact we had and listened carefully to all our thoughts and requests for the day) and then on the day was professional and played wonderfully for our guests who all commented on how nice the music was. Can't recommend Adam enough for your event."
Matthew Turner
"If I could give Matt an 11 I would. Couldn't have asked for a better performer for our wedding reception. Matt thought of everything and even brought his indoor speakers incase it rained (thankfully it didnt!) Music was perfect and created a great atmosphere with thoughtful song choices, thanks again, cannot recommend enough! X (10 / 10)"
Footloose
"Martin and Roy played at my Birthday Party and it was absolutely Brilliant! The Dance floor was packed from the moment they started playing to the end of the evening. Everybody said how much they enjoyed the music. It was all the songs we new from the 60's to the 90's and some contemporary ones too. The sound was fantastic. It really sounded like a 6 piece band with backing vocals all at just the right volume. If you want a great fun band that can play all your favorite hits then look no further than Footloose. Their vocals and guitars were fantastic and the extra instruments they played on the backing were spot on. Thanks Footloose"
Daniel Proud
"Daniel was very professional, punctual and provided a high-quality performance to my guests, I will definitely be booking him again"
Chris Poole
"We love having Chris at our place. He always knows how to read the room and play the right music for the right night"
