Party bands in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States play popular music across several decades, from Motown and classic rock to current chart hits, adjusting the setlist and energy to suit the room. Also called function bands, these acts usually run to 3 to 6 musicians and are booked for weddings, birthdays, corporate functions and private parties.
Set structure varies more than most people expect. A typical evening booking is two 45-minute sets with a break, and many bands supply a DJ playlist to cover the gap so the music never stops. Confirm how early the act needs access for setup, whether the venue has a sound limiter, and whether the band will learn a specific song for a first dance.
Rates for function bands in Pittsburgh range from $230 to $3,850+, with the average booking at $1,150. Band size is the biggest factor: a three-piece costs less than a six-piece with brass or a second vocalist. Performance length, travel distance and whether the act supplies its own PA and lighting all move the figure.
The average price for Party Bands available in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States is $1,150 (USD). Above you will also find a budget price and high end price. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.

Dunlap and Mabe
"I watched their promo video and thought this band would be a great fit for our community gathering. My main job is in concert audio, and I work with bands every week. I've done high main stream bands and garage bands, Robert Mabe put on a performance that was breath taking amazing. His band's sound was like nothing anyone has heard, our audience was silent with anticipation of the band's next musical note. Before the show was over city officials asked me for their contact info to bring them in for next year's fair concert. This band is worth 10 times what they charge. They are the real deal and will blow away your audience. And yes we're bringing them back."
A Sought Out City
"So happy we decided to book A Sought Out City. They were very helpful with everything we needed and would most definitely book them again for future events. We received alot of positive feedback from all who attended the event with the music! Such a great day and unforgettable experience.

Fusion est 1981
"Amazing talent and loved having these guys play at Rumors Nite Club in Urbana back in the 90’s. Can’t wait to see them together again!!!"
The Chemistry Band
"I’ve seen a lot of live bands, and this one is something special. Chemistry's talent is undeniable, but what really stands out is the way they connect with the audience. From the moment they take the stage, they create an intimate vibe that makes every performance feel personal.
Their blend of Neo-Soul and R&B is smooth, soulful, and full of energy. The musicianship is exceptional, the musical synergy is effortless, and their showmanship keeps you engaged from beginning to end. They don't just play great music—they create an experience that leaves you smiling, singing along, and wishing the night wasn't over.
If you have the chance to see them live, don't miss it. They never disappoint, and they always deliver more than you expect."
Brazilian Bossa Jazz Band
"The trio was fantastic, professional, and talented. The music added the perfect touch to our special day. Highly recommended!"
Johnny and the Headhunters
"There’s more to Johnny Ticktin than meets the eye. Well-versed in the blues, having once served as lead guitar player for the legendary Louisiana Red, the open-minded Ticktin is a sponge, soaking up the subtle six-string nuances and intricacies of a multitude of genres—from surf to classic R&B, swing and even Mambo—on his eighth album with The Headhunters, That’s All I Need. It would feel right at home in any rough-and-tumble roadhouse.
The title is borrowed from a song, covered here in all its dark, swampy glory, off Magic Sam’s 1967 iconic electric blues marvel West Side Soul. Watery, backwoods ripples of Sam’s tremolo guitar style and seductive rhythms meander through Creedence Clearwater Revival’s mysterious kudzu on Johnny & The Headhunters’ version, as Ticktin and company paddle up a lazy river of Bayou groove. Just as fluent in nasty rockabilly, they thrive in the sweltering heat of the 1957 obscurity “Chicken House,” giving it a warm buzz and making it rumble and swagger, while the lascivious, infectious funk of “Body and Fender” – a Doc Pomus/Duke Robillard joint originally built for soul crooner Johnny Adams – shakes all over and ogles the female form. A rousing, boogie-woogie version of Lowell Fulsom’s Chess Records’ hit “Rock ‘Em Dead” is wonderfully shambolic, and Ticktin rides the lightning of the Link Wray instrumental “Ace of Spaces” like a champ, gleefully wheeling through edgy garage-rock riffs with appropriate vim and vigor. What feel he and his band have for this material. There is not the slightest bit of indifference to it anywhere on this record.
Not that they need it, but help arrives in the form of keyboardist Tam Sullivan, who wraps smoky, sensual organ and wraiths of piano around a soulful remake of Bobby “Blue” Bland’s “Lead Me On,” and singer Liz Springer, who joins her brazen vocals to Ticktin’s in the cheeky, but charming, duet “Watch and Chain.” And, with the solid machinery of a good backing band at work behind him, Ticktin can just let loose – witness the slide-guitar fury of their cover of Elmore James’ “Shake Your Money Maker.” For aficionados of tasteful guitar work and music that time shouldn’t have forgotten, this is what you need.
