Rates for saxophonists in Surrey run from $230 to $1,700+, with typical bookings around $650. Check what the figure covers before comparing quotes: PA and setup are usually included, travel may or may not be, and an overtime rate for running past the agreed finish is worth agreeing in writing rather than on the night. Most acts take a deposit to hold the date, with the balance due close to the event, and short notice tends to cost more rather than less, since a free Saturday in peak season is a date someone else has already turned down. Paul Wainwright
"We had the absolute pleasure of hiring Paul Wainright for our business grand opening in Victoria, BC, and he absolutely blew everyone away!
From the moment Paul started playing, it was clear we were in the presence of exceptional talent. His saxophone skills are world-class — smooth, soulful, and incredibly dynamic. Whether he was delivering silky smooth jazz standards, upbeat contemporary hits, or energetic dance numbers, Paul's playing was flawless and perfectly suited to every moment of the event.
What truly sets Paul apart is his incredible vocal ability and the impressive diversity of his musical repertoire. He seamlessly transitions between genres, keeping the energy high and the crowd fully engaged throughout the entire evening. His solo performances are captivating and intimate, while his collaborative moments (when he brought in backing tracks or interacted with the guests) felt electric and professional.
