They even played a curated list of music while they were on break. I would highly recommend them. Super nice folks." Don Minott & The High Voltage Band have performed at The Stomping Ground multiple times, and have never ceased to please the audience. We didn't want a band that would perform the go-to tracks of the wedding circuit. We wanted a seasoned band to perform live music in genres ranging from Funk to R&B. Their band showcased tunes with woodwind & brass instruments and live vocals from their lead singer and all performers. The band informed us of all their necessities in advance and arrived early. The band also provided all the necessary equipment, like microphones and speakers. Our young and wise guests found themselves all on the dance floor from the energy Le'Mixx created." My previous role as the PK-12 Music Coordinator for the Enfield Public School District has brought me in direct contact with the professional, innovative, creative, and artistic musician and retired teacher Mr. Vincent Cassotta. I have witnessed first-hand the impact and quality of his quality music instruction provided for his thirty-nine years of teaching tenure in our community. To have the opportunity to bring the genre of American Jazz Music as a tribute to the legend of Louis Armstrong with quality professional musicians under Mr. Cassotta’s organization is a blessing to the young minds and ears of our elementary students, especially at a time when music education in Enfield offers less opportunities. This past Spring I had the opportunity to guest speak at Mr. Cassotta’s retirement party celebrating his many years of service in music education. In that speech I spoke about multiple areas beyond the collegial and professional relationship Mr. Cassotta, and I achieved since 1999. These in my opinion provide strong evidence for the Enfield Cultural Council to support this mission of this application fiscally. One of the points shared was that Mr. Cassotta balanced his career of music education and professional trumpet performing with incredible success throughout his career. Aside from the technical, logistical and time management responsibilities from such an endeavor, he achieved this success with never letting go of the care demonstrated to his students, family members, school building staff, and his music professional colleagues. The fact that he desires to continue to expand the music opportunities to students in Enfield now in his retirement resting years is evidence of his dedication to this art form and willingness to always educate. Furthermore Mr. Cassotta’s wealth of experience professionally as a performing musician and student of the trumpet is stellar. In his education Mr. Cassotta studied trumpet with Rolf Smedvig of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Empire Brass Quintet, Jimm Maxwell a NYC Studio Musician, Roger Murtha of the Hartford Symphony and Hartt School of Music, and Dan Patrylak of the Eastman Brass Quintet and UCONN. To continue, Mr. Cassotta was a freelance performer with Frank Sinatra, Manhattan Transfer, Ella Fitzgerald, Bobby Vinton, Bob Hope, The Four Tops, Phil Woods, The Temptations, Sammy Davis Jr., Andy Williams, Franki Valli and the Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. Including numerous local and state pit orchestra’s and local well know jazz bands. He has also published works as a composer and arranger with KJOS music as well as multiple professional recordings. I strongly urge you to consider Mr. Cassotta’s application for this grant. Your support will help impact music education in Enfield and continue to make a meaningful impact on the lives of its students. Thank you for considering this recommendation. Sincerely, Mark F. Frequently asked questions

The average cost of hiring wedding bands is $1,050, with prices from $220 to $3,500+. The main pricing factor is the number of musicians in the band, as wedding bands range from compact three-piece acts to large ensembles with brass sections and backing vocalists. Performance duration, whether the band provides music for multiple parts of the day and any extras such as DJ sets or lighting also affect cost.

Most wedding bands perform for two to three hours of evening entertainment, usually split into sets with short breaks. The first set often begins after the meal and speeches, starting with the first dance. Longer or shorter performance times can usually be arranged, and many bands also offer background music or DJ services for earlier parts of the day.

Many wedding bands are happy to learn a specific song, such as a first dance or a song with personal significance. For the best experience, discuss this with the band as early as possible, as some songs may require additional rehearsal time. Most bands will learn at least one special request at no extra charge.

The wedding bands listed on Gig Heaven range from small three or four-piece groups to larger line-ups with brass sections, backing singers and additional musicians. Smaller bands suit intimate venues and lower budgets, while larger ensembles create a bigger sound for grand receptions. Many bands offer flexible line-up options to suit different event sizes and budgets.

Most wedding bands are self-contained and provide their own PA system, microphones and any necessary amplification for standard event venues. For larger spaces or events with over 300 guests, additional sound reinforcement may be needed. It is a good idea to confirm equipment details with the band before booking, especially if the venue has specific noise restrictions or technical requirements.

Most wedding bands cover a wide range of genres, from pop and rock to soul, Motown, indie and current chart hits. Some also offer jazz, swing or acoustic sets for cocktail hours and dinner. Browsing band profiles on Gig Heaven is the best way to check repertoire, and many bands will tailor their setlist to suit the style of your event.
