Photo of The Groove Merchants The Groove Merchants "The Groove Merchants made our wedding night. Jefferson could not have been more infectious of an energy and we had so much fun. Thank you Groove Merchants x one million. They went above and beyond and helped us overcome issues with sprinklers at the venue and an event planner that was completely inept and non existent. Groove merchants overcame it all and made our party into a great memory" Based in Salt Lake City, Utah Robbie Millman - Wedding Photo of THE LATIN LOVERS THE LATIN LOVERS "So tight! So talented! Amazing performers with impeccable choice in both wonderfully well written originals and stunning covers of crowd pleasing favourites. One of my favourite bands I've ever seen!" Based in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada Gee Campos Photo of STRANGE BRUE Band STRANGE BRUE Band "Strange Brue IS strangely brewing a music storm of radiant light that you can feel in your bones forever. Slick Spewdis - Basin Sound Herald" Based in Klamath Falls, Oregon Slick Spewdis Photo of Good Co Good Co "We hired Good Co for our 1920's themed holiday party. They were extremely flexible and accommodating, especially when we asked if they would follow our leadership around the office as they gathered people for the party. Awesome talent, great at judging sound vs space. Our office is pretty echo-y and loud, but they found the right balance immediately. Definitely keeping on the books for next time!" Based in Seattle, Washington Ashley V - Corporate Party Photo of Dynamic Duo Dynamic Duo "We thoroughly enjoyed listening to your band at our corporate cocktail event In Kelowna. Beautiful and lively music! They were easy to book, on time and extremely professional. Our thanks to you guys!" Frequently asked questions

The average cost of hiring wedding bands is $1,100, with prices from $230 to $3,500+. The main pricing factor is the number of musicians in the band, as wedding bands range from compact three-piece acts to large ensembles with brass sections and backing vocalists. Performance duration, whether the band provides music for multiple parts of the day and any extras such as DJ sets or lighting also affect cost.

Most wedding bands perform for two to three hours of evening entertainment, usually split into sets with short breaks. The first set often begins after the meal and speeches, starting with the first dance. Longer or shorter performance times can usually be arranged, and many bands also offer background music or DJ services for earlier parts of the day.

Many wedding bands are happy to learn a specific song, such as a first dance or a song with personal significance. For the best experience, discuss this with the band as early as possible, as some songs may require additional rehearsal time. Most bands will learn at least one special request at no extra charge.

The wedding bands listed on Gig Heaven range from small three or four-piece groups to larger line-ups with brass sections, backing singers and additional musicians. Smaller bands suit intimate venues and lower budgets, while larger ensembles create a bigger sound for grand receptions. Many bands offer flexible line-up options to suit different event sizes and budgets.

Most wedding bands are self-contained and provide their own PA system, microphones and any necessary amplification for standard event venues. For larger spaces or events with over 300 guests, additional sound reinforcement may be needed. It is a good idea to confirm equipment details with the band before booking, especially if the venue has specific noise restrictions or technical requirements.

Most wedding bands cover a wide range of genres, from pop and rock to soul, Motown, indie and current chart hits. Some also offer jazz, swing or acoustic sets for cocktail hours and dinner. Browsing band profiles on Gig Heaven is the best way to check repertoire, and many bands will tailor their setlist to suit the style of your event.
