We performed with Ladysmith Black Mambazo at Cape Town Artscape Theatre and Pretoria in South Africa. It was so amazing to perform alongside the 5 times Grammy award winners, it was a dream come true.
We love playing at all sorts of events but corporate events and festivals are our favorite. It's much easier to interact with the audience and we love big audiences.
We started gigging back in 2017 as teenagers, we first performed at universities and weddings mostly. Since we've started performing, we've performed is so many platforms festivals, weddings, corporate events and live events across South Africa.
Ladysmith Black Mambazo: Their iconic Zulu dancing and African rhythm have always been the world's favorite and we love their iconic song Hello my baby, we also sing it in our performances.
Abantakwethu Brothers' sound is a natural evolution of their passion for traditional Isicathamiya, blended with modern influences. Growing up in Cape Town's diverse music scene, they drew inspiration from local genres like afro-pop and gospel, while honoring their roots. Their unique sound reflects South Africa's cultural melting pot, bridging languages and styles to create something fresh and authentic.
We arrive 2 hours before the performance for soundcheck and costume changing. We normally perform 1 x60 minutes or 2 x 45 minutes sets. We are happy to perform a bit longer.
We are happy to perform outside but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and mics.
Clients can request songs from their set of list and choose music they want or pick from our repertoire.
They describe us as a high energy group that loves to engage and dance with the audience.
