American Jazz Company 3-8 piece jazz band performing jazz and standards

We need enough space to set up and place the PA system. The exact amount of space is dependent on the size of the band. We have played in many 'tight' spaces. We will require two 15 amp outlets - preferably on separate circuits. Each member of the band will need a spot to park.

All we need is an address, where to load-in/out and park and a spot to change clothes and store our gig bags.

Yes. Typically we work with the event coordinator to build a set list and play it over spotify. Many times, we also provide unique or special first dances for weddings via spotify. If the wedding party has choreographed their dance, many times they prefer the exact original recording.

Our best gig was a wedding party at the Riverside Revival in Nashville. The venue was fantastic in that they already had a world class PA system, lighting and sound engineer (and a backline drum kit). The wedding party was fun and easy to work with and the guest interaction put the event over the top. The band had as much fun as the wedding party did....

We love all types of events. Corporate parties are a bit easier in that we have a fixed set list and stick to the pre-established schedule.
However, there is something really special about playing a wedding and being a small part of their special day.

We started gigging about 8 years ago. Prior to that I played drums/percussion in various bands and our lead singer (my wife) sang in high end restaurants. We formed American Jazz Company in Nashville about 5 years ago when we relocated to TN from Southern CA.

We have been performing under American Jazz Company for about 5 years in and around Nashville. Prior to that we had a similar band called Elegant Affair in CA for about 3 years.

We typically arrive two hours prior to start time to set up the PA, lights and drums. Normally, our first set is one hour. We break for 15 minutes and then do another 45 minute set and so forth. For weddings, however, the set times vary widely depending on the circumstances (first dances, cake cutting, speeches, etc.).

Yes - no problem as long as it isn't inclement weather.

Yes - we have an extensive set list but we try to accommodate any special song requests. Depending on how many songs we need to learn, we may need to charge a bit more.

Excellent. They love our musical expertise, how we organize the set list, how we handle the MC responsibilities, our professionalism and appearance. We typically receive several referrals and follow ups from the clients and their guests for future performances.

Yes - we do handle wedding dances, but we find many times wedding parties want a very specialized set list for their guests. In those instances, we partner with a world class DJ. We perform during the cocktail and dinner and then turn it over to the DJ for the dance.
This is also more cost effective for the client. I have a lot of experience as the MC for the special wedding events (introducing the couple, handling the special dances, etc.).
