I normally need about 1.5 meters x 1.5 meters, a chair or stool (without armrests) a 13 amp power outlet and 1 single parkspace.
I need to know the location, any important details in order to find / access the venue and when I can begin setting up.
I have my own sound equipment for audiences up to around 100.
I am happy to play a selection of songs in between sets, that fit with the mood of the evening. The client can also curate this playlist themselves.
I performed in the foyer of the National Theatre on London's South Bank for the customers waiting to see a show in one of the 3 world leading theatres. It was a magical atmosphere and astronomically good acoustics. A truly once in a lifetime gig opportunity!
I like ALL chances to entertain, but my absolute favourites are weddings. The mood is always so emotional and positive and I love being privileged enough to be a part of that experience and add something to someone's special day.
I started busking on the streets of London during the financial crisis when work was scarce and realised that I truly love to entertain! Very quickly I started performing in the bars and pubs of London and after my first wedding booking in 2010, realised that I had found my calling! I played weddings in the UK for 4 years before meeting my German wife and moving to Hamburg with here. There I continued playing weddings, just with more German songs! As well as weddings, I have also performed for countless birthday parties, corporate events, anniversaries, proposals, cafés, restaurants and bars.
I love artists like Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, but also grew up listening to Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Marvin Gaye and Eagles.
My favourite song of all time is 'Desperado' by Eagles
I normally try to be set up and sound checked about an hour before the event begins. Setup normally takes about an hour.
For a wedding I would typically play 2 - 4 songs during the ceremony and then up to 2 hours during the drinks reception / coffee & cake after the ceremony.
I'm more than happy to perform outside, as long as there is a bit of shade, flat surface to set up and a power outlet nearby.
Clients can pick freely from my repertoire and I'm also happy to learn new songs, as long as I have enough time. I normally prefer at least 4 weeks to learn a new song, but can do it quicker in a pinch!
