“THE BEST PART OF MUSIC IS NOT IN THE NOTES”: this aphorism by Gustav Mahler encapsulates the values of musical exploration, tonal quality, interpretation, and meticulous study that inspired the philosophy of the “CONSONUS Quartet.”
The string quartet is, in fact, one of the most complete and beautiful musical ensembles. At the same time, it is one of the most challenging to master in order to achieve truly outstanding results. Guided by this conviction, we have pooled our decades of concert experience and strengthened the bonds of mutual respect and friendship we have built over the years.
Our project grew out of a serious, dedicated approach to a repertoire spanning diverse musical styles and genres, grounded in frequent weekly study sessions. The result is a distinctive “sound” that is instantly recognizable in every performance.
What sets us apart is our commitment to interpreting both classical and light music with equal dedication. We create a unique interplay where the seriousness characteristic of art music blends with the spontaneous enjoyment of light music—and vice versa.
This approach allows us to perform at weddings, ceremonies, and banquets, as well as in concert halls, consistently delivering a high-quality experience that audiences appreciate. we require: chairs without armrests (for the number of musicians chosen) in every position where we can potentially perform, a place sheltered from the sun and possible rain (as we have very delicate and precious musical instruments), and the possibility of eating something from the aperitif buffet during one of the short breaks we will take every 50 minutes.
We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We absolutely need a shaded area at the venue for ourselves, as well as protection from the rain should it occur.
We have a very small sound system and music stand lights.
We can provide recorded music featuring a string quartet to be played during our breaks.
Every venue is special to us. The last major concert we performed was—for the third consecutive year—at the Rome Business School’s 2026 Graduation Ceremony in Rome, held at the Palazzo dello Sport before an audience of over 2,000 people.
