Originally coming up in the Milwaukee and Chicago club and rave scenes, Delusion began DJing in 2001 and spent more than a decade behind the decks during an era when DJing meant learning the craft on vinyl. Long blends, careful phrasing, working the pitch, reading a dance floor, and physically controlling two records became the foundation of a mixing style that still defines Delusion today.
Throughout the 2000s and into the 2010s, Delusion held multi-year residencies at La Cage and Mona’s in Milwaukee and performed at venues and events throughout the Midwest, including Circuit in Chicago, Fluid in Milwaukee, The Rave, Midwest Freak Fest at Shawnee Cave, Barnyard Boogies, and later Denver PrideFest. Over the years, Delusion has appeared on bills alongside internationally recognized artists including Paul Oakenfold, Bad Boy Bill, Nigel Richards, and Frankie Bones, among others.
After stepping away from regular performances for a number of years, DJ Delusion returned to the decks in 2026 with a perspective shaped equally by the records that built underground house music and the evolution of modern club production.
That history is immediately apparent in a Delusion set.
Rather than treating DJing as a sequence of tracks, Delusion approaches a mix as a continuous piece of music. Extended blends allow percussion and grooves from two records to interact before the transition fully reveals itself. Energy rises, releases, rebuilds and changes direction rather than simply becoming progressively harder. Tempo is treated as part of the performance rather than a number dictated by the incoming track, allowing records from different eras and styles to coexist naturally within the same set.
The result bridges generations of dance music.
The funky, percussive attitude of artists such as DJ Dan, Bryan Cox and Mark Almaria sits comfortably alongside contemporary house, tech house and driving techno. Classic records and recognizable vocals can appear next to underground cuts without turning the set into a nostalgia performance. Delusion uses those moments as punctuation before returning to drums, basslines and the relentless groove underneath them.
And while modern digital technology has become part of the workflow, vinyl remains central to the identity of DJ Delusion.
There is something inherently physical about manipulating a record—riding the pitch, correcting a drifting mix by hand and allowing two tracks to breathe together for an extended transition. That imperfection and human interaction are part of the performance. Delusion's approach combines that traditional technique with the flexibility of contemporary DJ technology rather than allowing technology to replace the craft.
The 2026 return represents more than simply revisiting an earlier DJ career. It's the beginning of a new chapter.
Delusion is once again performing, digging for records, rediscovering material from the original vinyl years, incorporating new underground music, and developing original productions. The objective isn't to recreate what electronic music sounded like twenty years ago. It's to take the musical instincts developed during that period and apply them to a modern dance floor.
Expect funky house. Jackin' grooves. Driving house. Tech house. Techno. Vinyl. Long blends. Big vocals when they matter. Dirty basslines when they matter more.
There may be classics in the record box, but this isn't a throwback act.
DJ Delusion is back behind the decks—and the story is just getting started.

For club and festival bookings, I require a stable DJ booth with adequate power, professional sound monitoring and a properly functioning house PA. My preferred setup includes two professional turntables with adjustable pitch and a club-standard DJ mixer. I can also perform using CDJs or provide portions of my own DJ equipment when arranged in advance. Please provide a safe, level performance area with adequate space for the equipment and access to power.
Please provide the venue address, event schedule, set time and duration, expected attendance, load-in instructions, parking information and a venue or production contact. I’ll also need to know what DJ equipment, PA system and booth monitoring are provided. For larger events, please send the available equipment/technical specification or connect me directly with your production or sound team.
Yes, sound equipment can be provided for private events and smaller venues when requested in advance. Requirements and pricing depend on the venue size and expected attendance. For clubs, festivals and established music venues, I generally perform through the venue’s professional house sound and lighting systems. DJ equipment requirements can be coordinated before the event.
Yes. Background and intermission music can be provided before, between and after sets when included in the booking. Music can be tailored to the event and audience. For club and festival appearances where another DJ or the venue controls programming between performances, I’m happy to coordinate with the promoter or production team.
Some of my favorite performances were the Midwest electronic music events at Shawnee Cave. There’s something completely different about playing underground dance music in that environment to a crowd that came specifically for electronic music. I’ve also performed at The Rave in Milwaukee and held long-term club residencies in Milwaukee and Chicago. After more than two decades around electronic music, the gigs I remember most are still the ones where the DJ and dance floor completely lock into the same groove.
Clubs, underground electronic music events, festivals and afterparties are where I’m most at home. I specialize in funky and driving house, jackin’ house, tech house and techno, and I love playing for crowds that actually want to dance. I’m also available for private and corporate events when the music and atmosphere are a good fit.
I started DJing in 2001 during the height of the Midwest vinyl era and became part of the Milwaukee and Chicago electronic music scenes. I went on to hold multi-year residencies at La Cage and Mona’s in Milwaukee and performed at Circuit in Chicago, Fluid in Milwaukee, The Rave, Midwest electronic music events at Shawnee Cave, Barnyard Boogies and Denver PrideFest. I’ve also shared event lineups with artists including Paul Oakenfold, Bad Boy Bill, Nigel Richards and Frankie Bones. After stepping away from regular performances for several years, I returned to DJing in 2026 with the same vinyl-rooted mixing style combined with modern technology and new music.
My biggest influences come from the funky, driving side of house and techno—especially DJ Dan, Bryan Cox and Mark Almaria. I grew up loving DJs who could build a real journey instead of simply playing one big record after another. That shaped my own style: long blends, percussion-driven transitions, energy changes and records that make people move. Picking one greatest track of all time is almost impossible, but the records I value most are the ones that can still destroy a dance floor decades after they were released.
DJ Delusion comes from the era when DJing meant learning the craft on vinyl. Since starting in 2001, that foundation has shaped a performance style built around long blends, precise phrasing, creative transitions and reading the dance floor rather than relying on a predetermined playlist. Today, that old-school approach is combined with modern DJ technology and a constantly evolving selection of funky and jackin' house, driving house, tech house and techno. The goal is simple: build a journey, create energy in waves and keep the dance floor moving.
Most club and festival sets are 60–90 minutes, although I’m comfortable performing extended 2–4 hour sets when the event calls for it. For venues with an established DJ booth, I typically arrive 45–60 minutes before my scheduled set for setup and sound check. Private events requiring my own sound equipment generally require 60–90 minutes for load-in and setup. Set length and format can be customized for the event.
Absolutely. Outdoor performances are welcome provided there is a safe, level performance area, reliable electrical power and adequate protection for the DJ equipment from rain, direct sunlight, excessive heat and other weather conditions. For vinyl performances in particular, a stable and properly protected DJ booth is important.
Absolutely. I want to understand the sound and atmosphere you're looking for before the event. Clients and promoters are welcome to provide preferred genres, influences and must-play or do-not-play requests. I don't generally perform from a rigid predetermined playlist—I read the room and build the set around the crowd while staying within the musical direction we've agreed upon
High-energy, technically tight and built around the dance floor. My style is known for long, smooth blends, strong track selection and building energy in waves rather than simply playing one big track after another. Expect a groove-driven mix of funky and jackin' house, driving house, tech house and techno, with classic influences mixed naturally into modern selections.
