Band is renowned for their infectious rhythms & soulfull melodies. Band play a lot of genre’s and perform at any event. Slam Jam can be or can vary from a 3 piece to a 4 piece or even 5-6 piece band. You name or request what you want and we’ll provide. Derek Hendriks, the Manager, owner, founder and even Bass guitar player, Songwriter & Singer of the band is 42 years in the Music Industrie this year.

Slam Jam was established during 1993 in a place called Prince Albert in the Karoo region in the Western Province of South Africa which means the band in existence are 32 years old this year which is really a big achievement and milestone especially with Derek still as manager, owner & founder of the band. It initially started by a very young boy, Derek Hendriks as a Disco set-up! After hearing other musicians performing live and attaining musicianship, Derek along with the late Charles Botes who was a mentor for the band, Francois Piedt, my current Keyboardplayer & Rodney Goliath, my current drummer decided to transform the group during 2008 to become a Live musical Act and started a band called: “Slam Jam Music factory” in short: Slam Jam! Slam Jam became one of the best and favourite bands in their region and in South Africa. So I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed if you hire a band like Slam Jam.

Slam Jam is Capable and Versatile of a lot of stuff & is current the best band in their region and is the 3rd Price winners of Battle of the Jazz Bands in The Southern Cape region and the 2nd Best Price Winners in Cape Town for Battle of the Bands in South Africa. We need a performance space of at least 8 meters x 5 meters. We require 2 x 13 amp power sockets and 3 parking spaces.
We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue.
No. You must provide the Sound & Lighning equipment for us. We only do plugins then.
Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.

We normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up. We normally perform 45-60 minute slots . We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.
We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.
We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 5 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them.
