Faray the Great zimbabwean Jazz artist based in South Africa

Faray the Great is a Zimbabwean born and bred Singer,Songwriter and Guitarist born on the 9th of march 1991 in a family of 3 children in Gweru,Zimbabwe.Real name Farai Malvin Mafukidze he did his primary and high school education at Stanley Primary and Fletcher High School respectively. A musical uncle introduced Faray to the guitar and blues music at age 15 and also gave him his first guitar.Faray played in churches and soon enough joined local gospel groups,the likes of Called to Worship and Shyleen Maningi as guitarist.He has worked as a session artist at Real Sound Records with Oskid,ShingiMangoma,Samkoko,Midlands State University Band and Chakie in Zimbabwe.Faray recorded his debut album titled Foundations(Moto werudo) in 2014.He moved to South Africa and formed his band playing in Johannesburg at PataPatarestaurant,Neighbourgoods Market in Braamfontein, S.A. Indies Music and other clubs.Faray believes that music is more than a sound but it is an experience and he aims to deliver that unique music experience to his audience each time he performs.He is not limited to genre but believes in experimenting and fusing different sounds to create new and exciting experiences for his audiences.
