I started giging in 1978 in London with a funky quartet. I was first replacing the bass player a few times, and stay in the band later.
I've been influenced by far too many artists for who I have lots of respect. The list is far too long, in different eras and genres.
The greatest song is "Sofa" by Frank Zappa. I don't play it often though.
Setup: 10mn for my instrument + band sound check (which doesn't depend on me).
Overall I like to play outside yes.
However, the stage needs to be prepared for weather sudden changings. The rain is a concern of course, but wind can be a real issue too.
I am a bass player and play what has been agreed with the band leader, or the event producer.
