I played my first gig at an all ages show, at Festival Hall in 1991, when I was underage. Since then, I have met just about everyone there is and Im in the process of finishing my BCI at Uni. of Canberra.
I love the sound of Etta James' voice and the funky keys of Dr. John. It's far from the dark power of Cradel of Filth's Cruelty brought thee Orchids but so is Sonic Youth playing Cool thing and Original Gangster's Colors and Ice T 's Bodycount. A big heavy band has to enjoy Slayer and Megadeth for the sonic velocity and that's a long way from the instigators The Beatles, who in the 60s played on the stage that I would later step on for my first gig. As a musician, I have to find the appeal that music has, music is supposed to be entertainment for the listener, not hard work.
