Some of my favorite rooms have been Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa, La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla, Paradise Point Resort, and The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, where I played a company holiday cocktail hour. Rancho Santa Fe is one of my favorite areas to perform, with its relaxed elegance and beautiful private properties.

Private parties. They tend to be more personal, and I enjoy working directly with the host to shape the set list, from classical and flamenco to seasonal favorites, whether it is quiet dinner music or a featured cocktail set.

I was born in Acapulco, Mexico, and my musical journey began in Texas, where I fell for rock music, saved up from odd jobs to buy my first guitar, and played in local bands. Guitarist Stanley Yates introduced me to classical music, and I went on to study classical guitar at the University of North Texas, also working with Tom Johnson, Diego Corriente, and Ashley Lucero. Today I perform at weddings, corporate events, and private parties around San Diego, and I also run a video production company.

Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix pulled me into the guitar as a kid. Later, Bach and Leo Brouwer inspired me to study classical guitar seriously. I aim for honest, expressive playing that bridges my rock roots with the rich tradition of the classical guitar.

I arrive about an hour before the start time to set up and sound check. A typical performance is played in 45 minute sets with 15 minute breaks, and I can also play continuous background music for shorter events.

Yes, I am glad to perform outdoors as long as I have shade or cover for me and the guitar.

Clients have a real say. I tailor each set to the event, from quiet background pieces for ceremonies and dinners to livelier selections for cocktail hours, and I can work in requests from my repertoire.
