Horizon Mini Biography
Phil (Vocals)
Joining Horizon in 2015, Phil had been singing for over 20 years and has a passion for performing and entertaining. He enjoys himself on stage, and loves to have a good boogie while singing! With a wide ranging experience, from vocal harmony groups to choirs and rock and roll bands, Phil enjoys singing a vast array of genres including, rock, pop, rock & roll, musical theatre, swing and reggae. He very much enjoys being the front man and loves interacting with the audience.
Richard (Bass Guitar & Vocals)
Rich is an ex-professional performing in the band 'Fire' in the late 1960's/early 1970's. 'Fire' consisted of Dave Lambert (who later joined the Strawbs) Bob Voice and Dick Duffall (now of Horizon). 'Fire' had a now classic Magic Shoemaker LP recorded at Pye Studios London, in 1970, and since then Rich has performed in various covers/function bands.
Greg (Electric/Acoustic Guitar & Vocals)
After studying at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford in 1999, Greg has written and performed in a few amateur rock bands before joining Horizon in 2004. Performing with his father and bringing a family element to the act. In addition, Greg built and maintains the band website and online bookings.
Pete (Keyboards, Guitar/Mandolin & Vocals)
Pete has played in a variety of bands since the late 1960's, over the years supporting acts such as Joe Brown, The Move, Edwin Starr & The Drifters. His talents range from playing keyboard, guitar & mandolin, to his technical skills of configuring the sound and lighting systems. As well as being the 'repair man' should things go wrong on the road; Pete is one of the key reasons why Horizon has built such a professional and reliable sound on stage over the past 10 years.
Larry (Drums & Percussion)
Larry, along with our previous vocalist Mark Light (2004-2015), is an original Horizon member. Larry was trained by the army and even today you can still detect the steady rhythm and timing of a world class drummer. Larry has performed at the highest level traveling all over the world and is the driving force behind Horizon.

Due to the amount of equipment we use (inc PA and lighting rig), please contact us to discuss your stage/band allocated space.

Full PA system, and LED Lighting Rig Provided - Suitable for most small to medium sized venues.
We can provide background music between sets, if there is a Wifi/good mobile service, we can stream any preferred music from our Amazon Music Unlimited subscription.
We performed a couple of great corporate gigs, at the Kia Oval (Cricket Ground) for WHSmith's, and at the Old Thorns Hotel for Spa International awards ceremony.
Any type of private event is usually the best atmosphere, when people are up for a party to celebrate the occasion!
The band has decades of performing experience, and the band started in 2003.
Across the band we have a variety of influences which form our multi-decade, multi-genre function band, aiming to provide a mixture for music for every audience.
The band is located around the M3 corridor, from Hampshire into Middlesex. Generally we will limit our travel time to 1.5 hours each way. We will always review the venue location before confirming.
Please allow min 1.5 hours for setting up, including time to sound check and test PA/lighting systems.
We can perform outside, but only under a protective cover (such as a Marquee). We will also require a stable power supply.
We generally work to the music we have rehearsed. If an event wishes to have a specific song, and we have enough time to prepare (such as a first dance song for a wedding), then we will try to accommodate the request.
Most clients say we are a very professional act, with a great selection of songs for a wider audience to enjoy. Suitable for any event type.
