Ahead of our event, we would like to confirm the following requirements to ensure a smooth setup and performance:

Parking access:
We kindly request parking spaces directly outside the venue to allow for easy unloading of our equipment.

Power supply:
A single 13 amp socket will be required.

Performance area:

A minimum space of 1.5 to 2 square metres is needed for our setup.

Venue access:
Please provide any specific directions or guidance that will help us locate the venue and identify the appropriate place to load in our equipment.

Sound restrictions:
Kindly let us know if there is a sound limiter in place at the venue

Yes, we’re completely self contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs as well as a simple lighting rig.

Yes, we’d be happy to provide a Spotify playlist between our sets to help maintain the party/wedding atmosphere and keep the energy flowing throughout the event.

We had the pleasure of performing at a wedding at Upwaltham Barns in Petworth — a truly stunning venue nestled in the heart of the countryside. While every wedding we’ve been part of has its own unique beauty, this one stood out as particularly special. The setting, the atmosphere, and the energy of the day made it an unforgettable experience.

Weddings are some of our favourite events to perform at — it’s an honour to be part of such an intimate and meaningful celebration, sharing in the joy of a couple’s most special day.

Sam and Maddie both began their musical journeys in college, performing individually in original and cover bands — though they hadn’t yet crossed paths. Each went on to gain experience playing at weddings, events, and local venues, honing their craft and developing their unique styles.

They eventually met two years ago through mutual friends in the music industry, and from that connection, Sailing Waves was born. With Maddie’s captivating vocals and Sam’s expressive guitar work, they found a natural musical chemistry that set them apart.

Starting with performances in local pubs, they soon found their true passion in creating unforgettable moments at weddings and special events. Today, while they still enjoy the occasional intimate pub gig, their focus is on delivering beautifully crafted performances that elevate every celebration they’re part of.

Our musical influences are as diverse as our sound — from Oasis and Stevie Ray Vaughan to McFly, each artist has shaped our style in different ways. One song that stands out above all for us is “The Best” by Tina Turner — an absolute classic and, in our eyes, the greatest song of all time.

We normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 45 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets. We're happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we've found that these set times suit us and our audiences best

Yes we are always happy to perform outside

We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 3 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them
