For most shows we require a clean, covered performance area with reliable power, a professional PA system and basic stage monitoring. Typical inputs include lead vocal, acoustic guitar DI, cello, backing vocals and, depending on the lineup, percussion or additional acoustic instruments.

For full-band shows we normally require a minimum stage area of around **5m x 4m**, appropriate vocal and instrument microphones/DI boxes, at least **3–4 monitor mixes**, and access for soundcheck before doors open. A detailed stage plot and input list can be supplied once the final lineup is confirmed.

For smaller acoustic, duo or singing-circle performances, technical requirements are considerably simpler and can usually be adapted to the venue.

We need the full venue address, a named on-site contact, load-in and parking information, performance and soundcheck times, and details of the available PA, monitoring and technical crew. Please also let us know the stage size, whether the performance is indoors or outdoors, any sound restrictions or limiters, curfews, access limitations, and whether there are stairs or long carries from the vehicle to the stage.

For outdoor events, we also need to know what weather protection is provided for the performers and equipment.

For most festival and larger venue performances, we ask the organiser to provide a suitable professional PA system, stage monitoring and basic lighting, with an engineer on site.

For smaller acoustic shows, private events and singing circles, we can sometimes provide or arrange a simple sound setup if required. Please let us know what equipment is already available at the venue and we can advise on the most suitable arrangement.

Yes. We’re happy to provide carefully selected background music via Spotify before, between and after our sets where the venue’s sound system allows. We can curate music to suit the atmosphere of the event, or work from a playlist supplied by the organiser. This is a background-music service rather than a separate DJ performance.

One of the most memorable places I’ve performed is Medicine Festival at Wasing Estate in Berkshire, where the festival welcomes around 10,000 people each year. I’ve performed there on the Main Stage as well as in the Sound Temple and there is something extraordinary about playing to an audience that is so open to participation, connection and communal singing. At its best, the boundary between performer and audience almost disappears.

I’ve also been fortunate to perform in some very different and special settings, including **intimate private sessions at Hauser & Wirth** and at the **British Film Awards**. I love that the music can work equally well in a large festival environment or in a much more intimate room where every note and every word can be felt.

Our favourite events are festivals, retreats and conscious gatherings where people come ready to listen, sing and really take part. We especially love spaces where music is part of a wider sense of community, celebration and connection.

That said, we also really enjoy intimate private events and special one-off gatherings, because the music can become even more personal and immersive in a smaller setting.

The roots of Moshe & The Holy Rollers go back to a weekly singing circle I ran every Thursday night for around eight years in london and brought people together through song and community, and over time became a seed from which the wider Medicine community, and eventually Medicine Festival grew.

From those intimate circles, the music naturally developed into live performances with a growing family of musicians, singers and collaborators. That became Moshe & The Holy Rollers: a fluid collective able to move between intimate acoustic performances, participatory singing circles and full festival shows.

Alongside performing, my recording and songwriting work has developed through collaborations with some extraordinary figures in contemporary music, including Guy Chambers, the award-winning songwriter and producer .

The heart of the project remains the same as those original nights - bringing people together and creating a space of harmony and peace.

I’ve been influenced by artists who use music to reach somewhere deeper than entertainment alone - Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Nick Cave and the great singer-songwriters who can make a few words and chords feel almost like a prayer. I’m equally influenced by devotional music, sacred chant, indigenous and medicine-music traditions, where songs are used to bring people together, tell stories and create connection.

If I had to choose one artist, Leonard Cohen would probably be my favourite. There is a simplicity, honesty and spiritual depth to his writing that has always stayed with me. He could write about love, loss, faith and doubt without ever pretending to have all the answers.

Choosing the greatest song of all time is almost impossible, but I’d choose “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen. Beyond the familiarity of the song, it captures something I love about music, the sacred and the human existing side by side, beauty emerging through imperfection.

We normally allow around 60–90 minutes for setup and soundcheck for a duo or trio, and around 90 minutes to 2 hours for the full Holy Rollers lineup, depending on the venue and production available.
A typical performance is 60–90 minutes, although we can also offer 2 x 45-minute sets where that suits the event better. Singing circles and more immersive performances can run longer by arrangement.

We’re very happy to adapt set length and format to suit festivals, retreats, private events and special productions.

Yes — we love performing outdoors, particularly at festivals, retreats and beautiful natural settings. We just ask for a flat, stable performance area, reliable power and proper weather protection for the musicians and equipment.

For daytime performances, shade is important in hot weather, and for rain or changeable conditions the stage must be fully covered. For larger outdoor shows we also require a suitable PA and monitoring system appropriate to the audience size.

Yes. We have a core repertoire and usually shape each set to suit the event, audience and atmosphere, but we’re very happy to discuss particular songs or themes in advance.

For private events and special occasions, we can also learn a limited number of requested songs where they suit the style of the project and we have enough notice. Our performances often include an element of spontaneity and audience participation, so no two sets are exactly the same.

Previous clients and audiences most often describe our performances as heart-opening, soulful, uplifting and deeply connecting. People frequently comment on the sense of intimacy and presence, even in larger festival settings, and on the way the performance invites the audience to become part of the music rather than simply watch it.

There is usually a journey from stillness and reflection into communal singing, joy and celebration — with people leaving feeling moved, energised and more connected to one another.

A medicinal concert and singing circle is a live musical experience designed not just for listening, but for connection, participation and emotional uplift.

The concert begins with Moshe & The Holy Rollers performing original songs, medicine music, sacred songs and acoustic pieces. As the performance develops, the audience is gently invited to join in through simple choruses, chants and repeated melodies. No musical experience is needed - the emphasis is on collective singing rather than performance or perfection.

The word medicinal is used in the traditional and artistic sense: music as something that can nourish, move and bring people together. The experience can move from quiet, reflective moments into powerful communal singing, rhythm and celebration.

It works particularly well at festivals, retreats, wellbeing events, conscious gatherings and intimate concerts, where the aim is to create a genuine shared experience rather than a conventional stage-and-audience show.
