Formed in 2004 as a local community band with grant funding (and then known as the Nightflyers Dance Band), we are a 16-piece Glenn Miller style Big Band, including a female vocalist, playing swing music both old and modern. Our line up is 5 saxes, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, piano, guitar, bass, drums and vocalist. Approximately one third of our set lists tend to be vocal numbers with the remainder being instrumental. We have our own PA system and equipment and only require chairs and a power supply to be provided. We have approximately 500 different pieces in our library and can cater for 1940s events and tea dances, as well as standard Big Band, Swing Band and Dance Band gigs. We rehearse Tuesday evenings in Rawdon, Leeds.
