Ock Street Band - Duo or full band of four.
Ock Street Band was formed in 2014 and are a duo of Ben Nielsen - vocals acoustic guitar & electro-accoustic bass guitar and Kay Davies – vocals,ukulele, banjolele, mandolin and treble recorder. When a bigger sound is needed then they have Jay Elliott on keyboard and Howard Wood on cajon and percussion.
They play covers, playing anything they like in an acoustic, slightly country, slightly folk style, as well as writing and performing their own songs and recorded their first ever EP, ‘From Scratch’ in 2019. Their sound is acoustic with lots of vocal harmony, with Ben and Kay alternating who sings lead vocal to give both variation and their own take on different songs. They play what they love how they love and enjoy nothing more then sharing the joy that playing together brings them.
They can be booked for festivals, pub gigs, private parties, house concerts and any other special events.

We require space for a the size of the band (duo or four piece) which will accommodate the musicians, PA system, and nearby electricity.

This is a really hard one. We love the festivals we have played at over the years. The best private party we did was where everyone got up and danced the night away to our tunes.
We love all the different places we have played. However our favourites would be a festival and private parties.
We all played together in a church worship band and Ock Street Band came from that. We have been gigging together now for over 10 years.
With our different voices we are influenced in different ways. Kay is inspired by folk singers and duos like Ninebarrow, Kate Rusby and then any number of American country singers. Ben enjoys classic Americana, and country music.
A typical booking is 2 sets of 45 minutes. However we are more than happy to tailor our performance to the timings you need.
We need an hour to set up and take down. We typically perform two 45 minute sets
Yes although we need shelter from either the sun or rain, and access to electricity.
We prefer to choose our own songs. However if there is a particularly special song then we are happy to incorporate it if we are given enough time to practise. We have examples of our repertoire listed.
