Pipetown is a jazz piano trio, featuring original songs and original takes on classic jazz standards. Featuring celebrated and experienced performers from the Washington, DC scene, including Marco Alejandro Cruz (piano), Aram Sinnreich (bass), and James McDonald (drums). We can also provide expanded personnel, including saxophone, trumpet, guitar, percussion, and/or vocals, to suit the needs of different audiences and events.

While rooted in jazz, the band draws upon its members' extensive experience in genres such as Classical, Reggae, Punk, Latin, and Afropop to inform its sound — a thoughtful, danceable, groove that will please any audience.

Our music is appropriate for a variety of settings, from formal and corporate events to weddings to cocktail parties to jazz clubs to festivals. We can play everything from ballads to dance numbers, and our arrangements can be short and tight, or extended and improvised. We can dress casually or formally, or somewhere in-between. We bring our own gear, arrive on time, and respect the needs of our clients and audiences.
