I am an experienced trumpet player and teacher based in the Washington, D.C. area. Versed in many styles including Jazz, Disco, Reggae, Funk, Classical and many more, I have been playing for over 50 years.
I can also enhance your event with a jazz group of many sizes. Duo, trio, quartet, quintet or more. We can play lots of jazz standards and would be perfect for cocktail parties, corporate events or any setting where background music would set a laid back but interesting mood. In addition to trumpet, I play flugelhorn which is a quieter and more soulful cousin to the trumpet. That paired with a piano or guitar and upright or electric bass can be a perfect backdrop do your event!

I can work in virtually any setting. I can use a venues equipment or bring my own (microphones, mixing board, PA, backing tracks, etc.) or I can be minimalist and just play my trumpet without need of speakers or microphones.
I always like to know as much about a venue as possible so that I can be prepared to play and have a back plan too.
Sound I can do. Lighting I don't at this time.
I don't do this but can work this out if needed.
The biggest was a near sold out 9:30 Club with Oh, He Dead. That was a special night for sure!
I love them all from small to large...as long as I can make a positive impact on people's events I'm happy.
I've been playing music since I was about 10 so about 50 years. I've always connected with musicians as friends so those were my first gigs. Those with my schoolmates but then it turned into a career. Now I play in all genres Jazz, Disco, Reggae, Funk, Classical and many more with lots of different groups. I also play solo and I have my own band called Time in the Wilderness.
I have too many artists to name but probably Miles Davis was the most inspiring. Greatest song? Also a tough one but I'd have to go with Stevie Wonder's I Wish.
