🎶 Raga Repertoire (Traditional Indian Format)
Each performance follows the traditional Indian classical format, based on ragas rather than songs. The choice of raga is guided by the time of day, mood, and atmosphere of the event.
Indrajit Banerjee presents each raga through an unfolding sequence of alap, jor, and jhala, followed by rhythmic compositions (gats) accompanied by tabla. His concerts blend meditative exploration with lively rhythmic dialogue.

I have been most influenced by RD Burman. My favorite artist is Ravi Shankar. The greatest song of all time is Castles Made of Sand by Jimi Hendrix.
ndrajit Banerjee is a sitar artist rooted in the Maihar Gharana tradition and based in Austin, Texas. He combines the depth of Hindustani classical music with contemporary collaborations that span jazz, world, and ambient styles.
Indrajit received his initial inspiration from his mother, Manju Banerjee, a sitarist. He went on to study under Pandit Manilal Nag of the Vishnupur Gharana and Pandit Kartick Kumar, senior disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar, mastering both melodic expression and rhythmic precision within the Maihar style.
