Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

Power. We have everything else such as lights, PA etc. A raised platform or stage would be appreciated but can operate without.

What information do you require about a venue?

Space available both for band and on dance floor. Load in times, latest sound check time.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes, we can provide a complete turn key solution but also happy to work in with a venues equipment..

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

We play Mp3 files between sets.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

So many venues offer different things. We've played at larger venues such as Musicland and Pockets in Melbourne that are great for a large crowd however we also love our Sunday afternoons at the local RSL club which is a much more chill event. Really, we love all venues that support live music.

What's your favourite type of event?

Parties. Everybody is there to have a great time. The next best is any venue that offers free entry. We really love the more support a venue can directly give to a band in this way. We do do ticketed shows but prefer to maintain a more accessible approach.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

We all come from different backgrounds but all have been gigging since young. Sticky Carpet was formed relatively recently though and feels like a culmination of all those years experience. Some of us started in talent shows, some started at the local folk club, others went straight into the "Loud Music" scene. And it's this mixing of experiences that makes Sticky Carpet what it is.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Too many to mention and a very wide selection to choose from.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

IF providing a PA, we require 90 minutes to do the full set up and sound check. Load out time is much quicker around 45 minutes.

We tend to play 3 * 45 minutes sets with encore at the end. We are happy though to adjust to the occasion

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I was going to mention that. We are very happy to include favourite songs or artists from the client provided we have time to prepare them. There is a level of quality we like to operate at which means we don't try to "Wing It" with requests..

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

They've loved us.
