Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

The best gig I’ve ever played was The Village Vanguard in New York City.
The biggest venue I’ve played at would be:
Inside. The Trifford (Brisbane)
Outside: The Australian Grand Prix (Melbourne)

What's your favourite type of event?

I love playing to big crowd, but I’m also just as at home playing an intimate club gig to an appreciative crowd who are just there to listen.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I’ve been playing professionally since the mid 1990’s. I’ve worked my way up playing small venues to no-one to international events & touring the country to working with ARIA winning & Billboard Charting & Grammy Nominated Artists.
I started gigging with my friends. We would go around and play at a few different bars and clubs every weekend. This lead me to getting booked more and more around town to where I’m at now.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I’ve been influenced by many different artists from many different genres. I love house, pop, rock metal. They’ve all left an indent on who I am as a performer now.
To name a few. Michael Jackson, Stevie Wander, Jeff Mills, Beastie Boys, Metallica, Joe Henderson, Sonny Rollins, Maceo Parker, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Sound Garden.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

If im performing with a DJ and just plugging in to play. I usually arrive 30min before my performance.

If I’m DJing too. I arrive 1-2hrs before start time unless the venue have set times for load in.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes. Considering the weather of course.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

No. I ask my clients what they want stylistically and what genre they like. I try and organise this prior. It makes for a seamless performance.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

They are very happy with my performance. They also appreciate my professionalism.

What is the minimum time I can book you for?

From 1 hour onwards for a performance. There may be additional charges depending on load in and set up time. This will be discussed at the time of booking.
