The January Lanterns is an award-winning indie-folk duo created by husband-and-wife team Andrew and Kristen Camp. The high school sweethearts have navigated life’s highs and lows together and their music is a raw and heartfelt expression of their journey with bittersweet harmonies and poignant lyrics.
Based in Chicago, The January Lanterns’ music speaks to anyone who’s lived through love, loss, and the complex beauty of personal growth. Their second album, That’s What We’ll Be (2025) follows their debut LP, For The Kids, When They’re Older (2022), and several singles have paved the way for their evolving sound. In April 2026 "Take A Breather" was featured on ABC’s crime/drama series, R.J. Decker and their latest single “Fade” won the Grand Prize in the 2025 John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

We need a performance space of at least 4 meters x 2 meters. We require 2 x 13 amp power sockets and 1 parking space.
We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We'd also need to know if the venue is indoors/outdoors and what type of cover will be provided, if outdoors.
Yes, we’re completely self contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs. No lighting equipment.
Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.
We got to perform at Rodger Williams University and open for Young Gravy! It was hilarious and awesome. We also got to open for Mandolin Orange (Watchhouse) at a Roots and Blues Festival. :)
We love playing at all sorts of events but corporate events are our bread and butter! We provide the perfect ambiance for guests to still talk, dine, and mingle without becoming the focal point.
We are high school sweethearts! We met in high school choir class and have been gigging together for around 15 years. Since then we've performed at hundreds of weddings, parties, corporate events, across the United States.
We are most influenced by Bon Iver, Phoebe Bridgers, Lizzy McAlpine, The Paper Kites. We love to incorporate their indie, folk energy into our live sets!
We normally arrive 1-2 hours before the performance to set up and sound-check. We normally perform anywhere from 1-3 hours (with a few short breaks for the longer sets). We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.
We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade (if possible), a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.
We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 2-3 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them.
Our speciality is creating an atmosphere of live music where we elevate the experience without becoming the focal point so that guests can still talk, mingle, and dine. So we are perfect for your cocktail hours, dinners, member gatherings, or welcome events.
