Technical Requirements – The Sugar Grooves

* Power: Minimum two reliable 13-amp sockets near the performance area.
* Space: Ideally 6m wide × 4m deep, depending on band size (3–9 musicians).
* Sound Limiters: Please advise us of any noise restrictions before booking.
* Setup: Allow 90–120 minutes for loading, setup and soundcheck.
* Food & Drinks: A hot meal and soft drinks for each performer and crew member. If unavailable, £30 per person applies.
* Parking: Suitable parking for band vehicles, with all parking costs covered by the client.
* Travel: Additional travel charges may apply, including congestion charges, ULEZ and tolls.
* Changing Room: A private, secure area for changing, breaks and storing belongings.
* Access: Please advise of stairs, restricted loading access or long distances from parking.

Please confirm whether the venue has a sound limiter or noise restrictions, available performance space, power supply, parking arrangements and loading access. We also require details of any stairs, access restrictions and the availability of a private changing room.

Yes! The Sugar Grooves provide professional PA and stage lighting as part of our standard packages, suitable for events of up to approximately 150 guests. Larger events can be accommodated with additional equipment arranged in advance.

Yes! We provide a complimentary DJ-style playlist before, between and after our live sets, keeping the atmosphere going throughout the evening. Clients are welcome to share their musical preferences or request a suitable playlist in advance. This is a playlist service rather than a live DJ.

Our musicians have been fortunate to perform at some of the UK’s most prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, The O2 Arena, Wembley Stadium, The Savoy and Royal Ascot. We’ve also been involved in performances celebrating Prince William and Kate’s Royal Wedding. Every event is special, but bringing that same level of experience to our clients’ celebrations is what we love most!

The Sugar Grooves are a collective of professional UK session musicians brought together through years of experience in the live music industry. Our musicians have worked with artists including Olly Murs, Jason Derulo, Bastille, Little Mix, Gary Barlow and Alesha Dixon, alongside major tours and West End productions.

With extensive experience performing at weddings, corporate events and private celebrations, we created The Sugar Grooves to bring world-class musicianship and high-energy live entertainment to events across the UK.

We’re influenced by legendary artists including Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind & Fire, Chic, Whitney Houston and Bruno Mars. Their incredible musicianship, infectious grooves and timeless hits inspire our performances.

It’s difficult to choose just one favourite artist, but Stevie Wonder is a standout for his songwriting and musical talent.

As for the greatest song of all time, we’d have to choose “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire – a timeless dancefloor classic that brings generations together and never fails to get the party started!

We typically require up to 120 minutes for loading in, setting up and soundchecking before guests enter the performance area.

Our standard packages include up to 2 hours of live music, usually performed as 2 x 60-minute sets with a break between.

A DJ-style playlist is included before, between and after our live sets, subject to the agreed finish time. Performance timings can be tailored to suit your event.

Yes, we are happy to perform outdoors, provided there is suitable protection from rain, wind and direct sunlight.

We require a flat, stable, covered performance area, a safe power supply and protection for our instruments and electrical equipment. All outdoor arrangements must be agreed in advance.

Absolutely! We have an extensive repertoire of pop, soul, funk, disco and dancefloor classics.

Clients are welcome to share their favourite songs and preferences ahead of the event. We can also learn a first dance or special request with advance notice, subject to suitability.

Our experienced musicians will tailor the setlist to the audience to keep the dancefloor full!
