"If Dr. John and Tom Waits leave you wanting more, lend your ear to one-of-a-kind Aussie artist Pugsley Buzzard, who assimilates their piano playing, singing and songwriting style into his own blues-jazz musical distillation. On this, his fourth solo CD since 2007’s Hammer These Tongs, Buzzard delivers an all-original set recorded in New Orleans, Melbourne and the Blue Mountains. The Aussie backing musicians are so hip to Buzzard’s swampy Crescent City-influenced grooves that it’s difficult to tell which tracks were recorded where. Complementing the Big Easy contingent of tenor and baritone saxophonist Jimmie Carpenter, trumpeter Antonio Gambrell, trombonist Craig Klein, double bassist Nathan Lambertson, guitarist John Fohl, drummer Charles Brewer and singer Irene Sage, is an equally talented band of top local players. The opening bars of the lead-in blues mambo instrumental ‘Cigarstore Indian’, on which Buzzard’s commanding piano echoes Professor Longhair, James Booker and Allen Toussaint all rolled into one, promises a bourbon-drenched musical trip to follow. Buzzard doesn’t disappoint, his gravelly Joe Cocker-by-way-of-Coco Robicheaux vocals and pulsating piano serving up a solid mix of New Orleans R&B from the Fats Domino styled ‘Dirty Kings’ and the inventive minor-key rave-up ‘Gumbo Boogie’, to the gris-gris-soaked, Night Tripper hoodoo funk of ‘Po’ Boy’, ‘Fire In The Hole’ and ‘Mischief’. The Dixieland flavoured ‘Sin City Lights’ gives way to ‘Salamanca Blues’ a solo instrumental displaying Buzzard’s mastery of stride piano. "Maddog puts on an amazing show! Whether it’s a small venue or a large Maddog will keep the crowd entertained. I have watched him in small bars and large rallies. He’s very accommodating to his crowd. He has a great voice and has an amazing assistant (his wife). He also has a pretty great following as he has made a lot of fans a long the way since they end up becoming his friends!!!! "

"Laura was fantastic from start to finish. Had so many comments on her singing. It was a great touch that she played games with the kids along side singing and dj’ing. Like having 3 entertainers rolled in to one. Would highly recommend!"

"So talented! He nailed our wedding reception! Nick is absolutely incredible! We hired Nick along with his bassist and drummer for our wedding reception. We gave him a couple genres that we preferred (country/classic rock) along with a few artists we liked and he nailed it. We trusted Nick for all of our music and our guests’ entertainment and he far exceeded all of our expectations. Nick quickly became the talk of the reception because nobody could get over how talented he and the band were. Even weeks after our wedding, our guests continue to mention how talented the band was. Our guests also loved the personal touch that a banded added over a DJ. Some have even asked about hiring Nick for their own future events. We are so grateful for Nick and cannot recommend him enough! His ability to learn new music and keep guests entertained is second to none! We wish Nick all the best!"

"Intimate Wedding So hard to describe how fantastic Nick was for our wedding. Considering it was just our children, grandchildren and a few sibling...he catered to every age and genre imaginable. From our entrance song, the kids dance party (which was improvised on the spot) and then the adults dance party, he exceeded all our expectations! Everyone kept commenting on how fabulous and talented he was. Thanks Nick for helping make our wedding everything we had dreamed it could be!!"
