"Hi Alan, Re: Review for our wedding on 01.07.2022 at Old Thorns, Hampshire Alan played for our ceremony and drinks reception. He helped to create the perfect atmosphere on the day and we had so many guests commenting on how brilliant he was. He went above and beyond for us by learning specific songs for our special day on our request. Nothing was too much and he was so accommodating and flexible. It was very easy to communicate with him in the lead up to the wedding and we really appreciate that he worked with us when we had to postpone the wedding due to covid. Would love to book him in the future for any other events we have as a family. Barbara and Tom"

"Brandon did a great job at our team meeting. We surprised 20 co-workers and Brandon was able to get nearly everyone involved. The team is still talking about it and they were all absolutely amazed by him. Not only was the show stellar but he was very easy to work with while coordinating the event. I would highly recommend Brandon and we hope to have him back!"

"Ich habe Mr. Pleasant 5 Mal gesehen und sie waren immer großartig. Ich habe die Gruppe dann zu meinem 70. Geburtstag engagiert und alle Gäste meinten hinterher, dass das die beste Feier war, die sie erlebt haben, was nicht zuletzt an der hervorragend präsentierten Musik lag. Alle Konzerte, bei denen ich Mr. Pleasant besucht habe, waren großartig. Die Stimmung war immer super."

They gifted me and my guests with a simply enchanting atmosphere, a musical experience that goes beyond a simple performance: it's pure emotion. Their interpretation of the songs is refined and engaging, the guitarist enchants with his elegance and rhythmic precision, and the saxophone with its warm and expressive sound wraps every melody, making it a unique virtuosity. And finally... the voice, Francesca is simply stunning, captivating with her intensity and natural control, perfect technique, and great communicative ability. I highly recommend this group to anyone looking for high-quality music, authentic emotions, and a touch of class. They are true artists capable of transforming every performance into a memorable experience, an ensemble of the highest level. Additionally, and not least, they also provided an exceptional DJ set for our event! From the minute we met Rick Holland and heard the band play we knew they were the band for us. And at the heart of this mid-week Xanadu was the Rick Holland Uptown Orchestra, a modest, brass-centric outfit led by the trumpet-blowing Holland that swung with equal parts effervescence and laid-back cool at Lovin Cup. And come to find out, five of his Hollands regular guys were sidelined, and the holes on the bandstand were plugged with subs --- hired music muscle like Po’ Boy Erik Jacobs on the slide trombone. By the time the Orchestra heaped on a helping of Count Basie, there was nowhere else I wanted to be. I dragged my mom out in the cold for this show and she was thrilled when they stomped on the Savoy. Holland led the affair with a relaxed air, coaxing more than conducting under his porkpie lid. He went around the bandstand numerous times so every cat there got his fair shake, including pianist extraordinaire Bill Dobbins. This is one sweet band, yes, yes. Frank De Blase, Roch City News With all the hype going to Wynton Marsalis, you might not guess that there are other, lesser-known, straight-ahead trumpet players out there who are consistently ripping the hide off the ball. This, Rick Holland's auspicious debut, is an impressive effort. The trumpeter leads his quartet, backed by a solid Michigan-based rhythm section: pianist Terry Lower, bassist Ed Fedewwa, and drummer Larry Ochiltree, through a fiery trail of originals and standards, interspersed with some fine balladry. Holland's sensitive ear translates to some tight arrangements and a well-organized program. On flugelhorn, he boasts a rich, full tone that purrs with warmth. On the faster tunes, he steams. This is the kind of jazz that feels just right on a wintry day, with the fireplace in full throttle, and the feet resting on a cushion: it hits the spot perfectly, drenched with emotional power and skillful fortitude. Sam and Ellie Carrell When we heard the Uptown Society perform at a New Year's Eve concert we knew that we wanted them to play at our wedding. They had the perfect blend of jazz, swing and romantic ballads. They are excellent musicians and we were thrilled to find that they were available for our wedding. Our guests were thrilled that we hired them; we received so many compliments. Uptown Society provided a wonderful 'soundtrack' for our storybook wedding. Rick could not have been more accommodating to my husband and my wants and needs for music at the wedding. We communicated through email, over the phone, and met with each other once to go over the details. Rick was very thorough and always set our minds at ease. During our ceremony, his quartet played us up the aisle with a romantic song and down the aisle with ''Fireworks'' which set the mood for the festive evening to begin. The cocktail hour began immediately following the ceremony and Rick''s band did not miss a beat....the little big band entertained guests while they mingled and got a bite to eat. When the wedding party was ready to be announced, Rick took the microphone as we were all introduced. After the speeches were out of the way, Rick and the band let loose! With a full band and two singers, a male and a female, we partied for the next four hours! The guests were dancing, singing, and truly having a great time as did we! The band definitely made the night! The songs were exactly what we requested and the sound quality was superb. I would gladly book Rick and his band for another occasion as well as recommend them. "We chose Karlton for our DJ at our wedding on 15/10/24 from lots of recommendations and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Karlton was very friendly, interacted with the crowd and no request was too big. Communication was fab prior to the event where Karlton asked some questions on what kind of music we do and don't want playing making the evening personalised to us. We also chose to have the Magic Mirror which was such a hit with our guests. They were taking photos all night! I would highly recommend Karlton for any function - great value for money!! Thank you again for making our wedding night memorable!"

"Wow! We were so impressed with these guys, from the first initial contact with Jon, i knew that we were in safe hands. The band arrived in the afternoon and setup discreetly in the marquee. The music was a great mixture and just what was needed to keep our guests dancing away through the night. They also put a playlist of upbeat songs on when they weren't playing which really helped keep the dance floor! Paul and I would definitely recommend you to any of our friends in need of a party band. Thank you! X"
