Sparky , Dr Dub and the Wailer blues trio
"If you walked into The Pocket blindfolded last week you might have thought Tom Jones had dropped by to front this power trio.
But there's no mistaking why they call Stephen Bailey 'The Wailer', as he fills the room with deep guttural blues you could be back in 50's Mississippi.
With a rhythm section tighter than a bungee jumper's harness and keyboard skills that could give Jools Holland a run for his money, these guys mean business!

Cooper and the Makerfields
"I have seen Cooper and the Makerfields numerous times now. They are a fantastic well established blues/jazz/roots band. They have completed many local venues, and this summer have played at four festivals. They also have played for a number of charities without taking payment. Lovely guys. They never fail to be asked to play an encore. No venue is too big, or too small. The band adapts to the venues needs."
Corduroy Moustache
"We had booked Oliver and Tommy to play at our wedding, to help fill the time after the ceremony and to entertain our guests. Our day was planned to be a relaxed, chilled day and Corduroy Moustache certainly helped to create exactly that for us. Music was wonderful, exactly what we had asked for and we’ve had plenty of comments from guests saying just how fab they thought the music was. We couldn’t have asked for anything better to compliment our day. Would definitely highly recommend!"
The Brian Kelly Band
"These guys are fantastic! Such musicianship and an excellent range of songs, and cracking guitar solos. Brian is also incredibly professional and easy-going. One of my top band choices for the central belt every time."
Almaz & All That Jazz
"We booked Almaz for a Charity event held at The Virgin Money Lounge in Manchester. They were extremely professional, arriving on time to set up and tune up. Their set created the perfect atmosphere for the day. They are both exceptionally talented and do a lovely repertoire of both originals and covers. I couldn't rate them any higher or I would have. Thanks again for all your support!"
One Eyed Cats
"So, according to the One Eyed Cats website they are a …
High-octane rock & roll, cool blues, jumping rhythm, driving rock or a hair-down sing-along, the Cats always deliver. And deliver incredibly well.
Their large line up is suited to their huge sound, with a fiery brass section, rocking guitar and rolling piano.
Their music is always lively, passionate and entertaining. They always aim to lift the roof off, rock socks off and leave everybody fully entertained – having had a good laugh, boogie and night.
All with immense enthusiasm, fine humour and unquestionable musicianship.
As cheesy as it might sound, I have to agree!
I was at a gig last week in the Brewery Tap, Peterborough, a very popular and well established pub, Thai restaurant and micro brewery, if you’ve never been before then make sure you go because if you like a quiet pub there’s a spot in a corner for you (they have good beer) and if you like it louder then there’s loads of different DJ nights, soul music, bands, a Prince tribute night is coming soon and tomorrow they have The Peterborough Big Band.
So back to the gig, It was a Thursday of a bank holiday weekend no less, so it was bound to not be a normal Thursday night! The crowd had had food, were drinking after work, any band would do well but the Cats brought a little something different tonight, they have many years of gigging experience behind them and they turned up, plugged in and rocked the place! The Cats filled the dance floor and by end of the night left everyone wanting more. All the band are brilliant musicians, you definitely wont see any backing tracks here, they seemed to enjoy the night as much as the crowd so if you want a good night out go find the Cats and bring your friends!"
