Most of what decides whether a booking runs smoothly is settled before the band arrives, and it depends on the room. Venues in Norfolk, England, United Kingdom range from function suites with a house PA and a fixed curfew to marquees and outdoor terraces where everything has to be carried in, and the same five-piece behaves quite differently in each.
A four or five-piece needs roughly 4 by 3 metres of flat, dry floor, more once a drum riser or a brass section is involved, plus two or three power sockets within reach of the stage area. Check the load-in route early, because stairs, a long carry from the car park, or a lift too small for a bass cabinet all add time, and some acts charge for it. Ask about a sound limiter before you commit to anything: a limiter set low will cut the power mid-song, and there is no way around it once you are there. Curfews work the same way, since an 11pm finish moves the whole running order earlier than most people expect.
Saturdays in peak season and the whole of December go first, often a year out, so the band you want can end up fixing your date rather than the other way round. Distance shows up on a quote as travel, and occasionally as accommodation when the finish time makes the drive home impractical. Friday and Sunday bookings widen the field considerably if the date is flexible. Ask what the travel figure covers, since some acts price it into the fee within a set radius and charge separately beyond it.
Most bookings in Norfolk come in around £700 for two live sets, with duos and trios below that and larger lineups with brass or extra vocalists above it. What varies more than the headline figure is what sits inside it. Check what the quote covers: travel, a DJ set or playlist between sets, and how long the band plays in total rather than how many sets they perform. Most acts take a deposit to hold the date with the balance due close to the event, and overtime is normally charged in half-hour blocks, so agree the finish time in writing rather than on the night.

The New Mojos
"I’d like to live a 5 star review for the New Mojo band fronted by Paul and Jo. They played at my wedding at Hever Castle this last summer and did an excellent job. They traveled all the way from Norfolk to Kent. They didn’t only play but they supported us in other ways through the wedding. They all looked amazing and they played beautifully even if we run out of time due to the wedding running late. I’d like to say a very huge thank you to them from the bottom of my heart."
Catch 22
"Just wanted to say a big thank you for playing at our wedding. You were brilliant, really gave our evening a great atmosphere and all my guests said what a great time they had and what a great band! Really made our wedding day special and some great memories to treasure.
Cant thank you or praise you highly enough. I have posted a message on your website recommending you.
Not only that but your communication and help before hand was great and much appreciated. I have absolutely no complaints. You were all so professional and friendly.
Many Many thanks
Marie and Jody Watson"
Biker Band
"The Kings’ regulars are probably the luckiest people in Lincolnshire, maybe even the East Midlands! Not only do they have fabulous hosts in Richard and Sharon, they also provide the best music free of charge every weekend and they don’t come much better than the Bikers Band wherever you may go.
Quiet and staid does not exist in their vocabulary, Mister-Pink is power funk, rock and blues at its very best covering the likes of Cream, Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones but also mixing in their own songs in a seamless blend of quality entertainment. I asked Simon for his set list after the gig and do you know what the response was? “What set list? We just play what the audience like!” Believe me there are not many bands that can make such a confident statement.
How many encores did we have? I lost count, the holiday weekend busy bar wanted more so The Bikers Band duly provided. Of course we must not forget the superb bass playing of Jules and Balding Bloke was in his element sound engineering when the drummer let rip with a storming drum solo. I don’t know what they feed them on in Norfolk however it seems to be an excellent diet for drummers!
Now here’s a teaser for you…whilst we were clearing up afterwards I happened to mention that he’d forgotten to use his harmonica. That was it, straight to his kit and “Not Fade Away” commenced, The bassist struck up his acoustic guitar and the remaining customers and bar staff all immediately broke into song…Most likely we won’t see these guys again until next year, that’s going to be an awful long wait for many of us! ~ gig reviewer - Lincolnshire Press"
Collins & Wilson Duo
"We booked Stacy and Mark to play at a birthday party and we thought they were fantastic. Stacy has an amazing voice, and Mark's guitar playing was great. A fantastic afternoon of singalong/dancing music."
Winter
"She was very talented. Not only was she the dance teacher, she can act and she was singing in that song that you heard there. Lovely girl."
The Last Broadcast
"Just had these guys perform at our wedding & they're an absolutely fantastic band, professional, & had great feedback from our guests. Highly recommend & wouldn't hesitate booking them again. Thank you for making our special day complete :)"
