Booking an event DJ in Japan usually starts with a short brief: date, venue, guest numbers and the kind of night you want. Quotes tend to come back within a day or two, and most DJs will offer a call to run through the plan before you confirm. The strongest candidates ask as many questions as they answer, from timings to what the room is like.
Most setups need a table or booth space near a power supply and 60 to 90 minutes to load in and sound-check before guests arrive. Tell the DJ about stairs, long carry routes or upstairs function rooms when you enquire, since they move heavy speakers and stands. Some venues fit sound limiters that cut power when volume crosses a set threshold; a DJ who knows this in advance can configure their rig to stay under it. Outdoor receptions and marquee events need dry, covered ground and a reliable power source, so agree those details with the venue early.
A strong event DJ builds the night around your brief rather than a fixed routine. Share a shortlist of must-play tracks, anything to avoid, and the shape of the evening, from arrival music through dinner to the main dance set. Decide in advance whether guests can request songs on the night, and mention any themed or multilingual sets you need so the DJ can prepare the right library. Most are happy to source specific tracks ahead of the event if given notice.
Most DJs in Japan quote per event rather than per hour, with evening bookings running from ¥16,500 to ¥215,000+ and typical spends around ¥65,000. Hourly figures usually only appear for short add-on slots or extra time at the end of the night. When comparing quotes, check what is included: sound equipment, lighting, setup time and travel are normally built in, while uplighting, an extended set or a separate system for a second room adds to the fee. December dates and peak-season weekends are the first to go, so confirm your date as soon as the venue is settled.

"A very responsible and talented young DJ. He played an incredible house/funk set on a rooftop — amazing energy and deep musical sensitivity.
His song selection was on point, and despite being only 22, he shows real promise and professionalism beyond his years. Definitely one to watch!"

"This is a morality tale not a tale of unprofessional behavior it is about a couple who refused to use my booking agent Gig Heaven. I started in the music industry back in the late 80's as a recording artist.
I have worked for recording companies and private bookings I was asked by this couple to sign an agreement outside of Gig heaven and I refused. I was also asked to learn new songs they wanted for their wedding. At the time I had my hands full with performing at a local venue. This is the first client in many years that has come back after they cancelled the engagement and use the booking agent that they stab in the back by To write a review because they are upset with the out come they made not me. They paid the advance of 425 euros the balance to be paid before or after the performance. I recently performed on the Sunborn yacht in Gibraltar. I realized that the budget for transport was not accurate. I text the client to inform of the error, he sent the money from the remaining balance to make sure things were running smoothly.
I suppose it depends on the frame of mind and possibly the age.
I had an emergency with my equipment and mold found in the storage unit. To move my equipment I needed 300 euros I only had at that moment half.
My performance at the local venue had ended. I purposed to Cory and Luran that I had time now to learn the songs that they wanted but if they might do me a favor? I asked for 150 euros against the balance due, 400 if I'm not mistaken? The next day I received an email canceling the performance. To the happy couple who can find time 10 days after their wedding to write a review on the Gig Heaven booking site that they never booked me from. I not sure you moral compass is working correctly you might need to check your direction,
If you truly enjoyed the replacement you had waiting their would be no need to bother with me. Or maybe it is the advance??
That you were not concern with until you cancelled the engagement. If I had turned up with faulty equipment because of damp that would have been ok for you? It is obvious that you are not latertral thinkers just like things to be in your favor. By the way yes I did spend the 425 euros wisely!
I replaced the equipment.
This was a nasty attempt to make their action seem like they had been victims of their own decisions
All the best to you and yours!
I'm sure your day was brilliant!"
