Folk Singers for Hire in Schaffhausen

Q: How much do folk singers cost in Schaffhausen?

The average cost of hiring folk singers is CHF280, with prices from CHF90 to CHF950+. Pricing depends on the singer's experience, performance duration and whether they perform with a guitar, other instruments or backing tracks. Folk singers suit a range of settings from intimate acoustic performances to larger outdoor events.

Q: What styles do folk singers perform?

The folk singers for hire perform traditional folk, contemporary folk, Celtic, acoustic singer-songwriter material and folk-influenced popular music. Many folk singers accompany themselves on guitar, banjo or other acoustic instruments.

Q: What events are folk singers suitable for?

Hiring folk singers is ideal for weddings, pub and bar events, festivals, private parties, corporate dinners and intimate gatherings. The acoustic, storytelling style of folk music creates a warm, personal atmosphere that suits a wide range of settings.

Q: Can a folk vocalist perform as a duo or with a band?

Many folk singers offer flexible performance options, from solo acoustic sets to performances with additional musicians such as a guitarist, fiddle player or small ensemble. It is worth discussing line-up options with the singer when requesting a quote.

Q: Do folk singers need amplification?

For small, intimate venues, many folk singers can perform without amplification. For larger spaces or outdoor events, a small PA system is usually needed. Most folk singers bring their own amplification equipment. It is worth confirming the setup with the singer based on the venue.

Q: Do folk singers perform their own material as well as covers?

Many are writers as well as performers and will mix their own songs with traditional material and familiar covers. The balance is usually the booker's choice and most are happy to lean either way. For an event where guests should recognise what they hear, say so, because a set of entirely new songs makes for a different evening.

Q: Will a folk singer get guests joining in?

Singalong choruses are part of the tradition and many performers use them deliberately, choosing songs a room can pick up inside a verse. How far it goes depends on the crowd and the point in the evening, and a good performer reads that rather than forcing it. Events wanting a quieter listening set should say so, as the same singer can do either.

Q: Are pub and bar bookings different from private events?

A live folk musician working a pub or bar usually plays two or three shorter sets across an evening rather than one continuous performance, with an audience that comes and goes. The setup is lighter, since there is rarely a stage and the corner of a room is the normal spot. Rates for this work differ from function bookings, so it is worth saying which kind of event it is when enquiring.

David Häggi "Häggi and the Strello Band were even better than we expected. All great musicians, they played so well and were so cool and down to earth. I would hire them again, and probably will!" Based in Bern, Canton of Bern (76 miles from Schaffhausen) 26th March 2026 Marion - Wedding Party

The DooLallys "I first witnessed The DooLallys years ago at a kind of impromptu kitchen session. I think deeply soulful is the best way to describe their mix of pipes, strings, and song - seamless switches between O'Carolanesque 18th Century rave style to sweet balladeering, along with true and loving versions of traditional Irish music tunes, all layered with a knowing hedge school poetic sensibility." Based in Bern, Canton of Bern (76 miles from Schaffhausen) Tim Bradford

Roberta Scimè "We highly recommend Roberta Scimè for any musical performance. We had the pleasure of having her perform at our son’s wedding in Italy; Roberta arrived as agreed and sang three beautiful songs we had selected ourselves. She delivered the songs exquisitely and truly filled the venue with her voice. Her voice is incredibly beautiful, and we felt completely at ease working with her throughout the process. She was quick to respond and arrived well ahead of time. Should we need music in that country again, we would certainly reach out to Roberta once more. Our warmest recommendations. Lars & Marianne Harboe Denmark" Translated from Italian Based in Lake Como, Lombardy, Italy (123 miles from Schaffhausen) 20th September 2026 Marianne Harboe - Wedding

Nadine & Marcus Belcanto Duo Milan "We perform the best of the italian songs adding their history, our is a form of concert lesson. We can perform in two or only me as a crooner." Based in Milan, Lombardy, Italy (157 miles from Schaffhausen) Marcus - Songs from the heart a mix of top italian melodies

Cameron Arndt Music "Cameron is a fantastic live musician! He made my 40th birthday party truly special. Cameron plays nonstop, hit after hit, and has a good sense of what the audience wants. He started with quiet background music, but later, he moved on to cool party music that got everyone singing along, dancing, and celebrating. All of the guests (100+) were thrilled, and many asked for his contact information. I'm looking forward to another event with Cameron and can highly recommend him!" Based in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany (236 miles from Schaffhausen) Benjamin Offerman - 40th Birthday Party

Alberto Aperi One man band "Mesmerizing, captivating, and utterly enchanting! Alberto 's musical performance was an absolute delight to behold. From the moment he stepped onto the stage, his passion and talent shone brightly, filling the room with an electrifying energy. The seamless blend of technical skill and heartfelt expression left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to witness it. Bravo, Alberto for a truly unforgettable performance that touched the soul and lifted the spirits!" Based in Modena, Emilia-Romagna, Italy (237 miles from Schaffhausen) Josh Bennet - Wedding day
