Solo guitar works at almost every point of an event, from ceremony music and drinks receptions through to relaxed evening sets. Before requesting quotes, it helps to decide where live music sits in your day: quiet background playing during food, a featured moment such as a first dance, or both. That decision shapes the set list, the equipment a performer brings and the price you are quoted.
A typical booking covers two 45-minute sets or three 40-minute sets with breaks in between, though most performers will adjust timings to fit around speeches, courses and other entertainment. For drinks receptions, many guitarists play longer, lighter sets at background volume; for evening slots, expect shorter and more energetic performances. Agree the running order in advance and decide who will cue the performer on the day, so timing changes reach them quickly.
Indoor setups are simple: a chair, a small clear area and a nearby socket cover most performances. Outdoor ceremonies and garden parties need more thought. Ask whether the performer can bring a battery amplifier or play fully acoustic where there is no power, check noise policies and finish times with your venue before booking an amplified evening set, and make sure there is somewhere dry and shaded for both the performer and the instrument.
Guitar players in Québec mostly quote per set rather than per hour, starting from about $190 for a single instrumental set, with typical bookings around $550 and singer-guitarists bringing their own PA reaching $1,600+. Longer performances, weekend and peak-season dates, and sets that include vocals all push quotes up. When comparing quotes, check what each includes: amplification, travel and time to learn requested songs are sometimes itemised separately. Booking ceremony and reception music with the same performer often costs less than hiring two separate acts.

Nitin Sharma
"I invited Nitin to perform on stage solo for our private event. He performed for close to 2 hours non-stop and I don't have words to share how awesome he was. Incredible voice and an incredible perforamce that will be remembered for many years. Everyone in the hall enjoyed his songs and guitar to the fullest and it was a night to remember. Good Luck to Nitin he comes across a big future star indeed. 2 Thumps Up!"
Mike Goudreau Band
"Where do I begin? In a nutshell, Mike Goudreau Trio put our event over the top. He communicated with me prior to the event to iron out the details, they arrived promptly to set up, and my guests are still commenting on how wonderful their music was! I used Gig Masters for the first time, and they delivered the best! Mike, you and your group made my parents anniversary party extra special. I told you in person, but once again you did an amazing job. Anyone looking for a talented, reliable, exceptional group for their event should look no further than Mike Goudreau!!!
See you at our next family gathering.
Your fan and very satisfied client,"

Alan was incredible at our wedding after party! He kept the vibe just right all night and went above and beyond by learning a few songs on guitar just for us—which meant so much. We’re so appreciative of the care and effort he put into making it all feel personal. Highly recommend!"
Ross A McGinnes Music
"Excellent!
Highly recommend, great play list and ability to “read the room”. Ross added a lot to our event!"

"He is the Chris Stapleton of Cape Cod. I love when he does Tennessee Whiskey"
Ken Campbell
"We love to go hear Kenny any time we are up in the Fingerlakes. His style is just plain feel good music. On both acoustic and electric guitars he performs songs we all know and love as well as a few of his own original tunes that are really fantastic. It’s super fun when he passes out rhythm instruments for the audience to play also! Makes any gig a fun time!"
