Solo guitar works at almost every point of an event, from ceremony music and drinks receptions through to relaxed evening sets. Before requesting quotes, it helps to decide where live music sits in your day: quiet background playing during food, a featured moment such as a first dance, or both. That decision shapes the set list, the equipment a performer brings and the price you are quoted.
A typical booking covers two 45-minute sets or three 40-minute sets with breaks in between, though most performers will adjust timings to fit around speeches, courses and other entertainment. For drinks receptions, many guitarists play longer, lighter sets at background volume; for evening slots, expect shorter and more energetic performances. Agree the running order in advance and decide who will cue the performer on the day, so timing changes reach them quickly.
Indoor setups are simple: a chair, a small clear area and a nearby socket cover most performances. Outdoor ceremonies and garden parties need more thought. Ask whether the performer can bring a battery amplifier or play fully acoustic where there is no power, check noise policies and finish times with your venue before booking an amplified evening set, and make sure there is somewhere dry and shaded for both the performer and the instrument.
Guitar players in County Fingal mostly quote per set rather than per hour, starting from about €110 for a single instrumental set, with typical bookings around €300 and singer-guitarists bringing their own PA reaching €950+. Longer performances, weekend and peak-season dates, and sets that include vocals all push quotes up. When comparing quotes, check what each includes: amplification, travel and time to learn requested songs are sometimes itemised separately. Booking ceremony and reception music with the same performer often costs less than hiring two separate acts.
The average price for Guitarists available in County Fingal, Leinster, Ireland is €300 (EUR). Above you will also find a budget price and high end price. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.

Copper Brereton
"Copper was great - played for our day 2 wedding BBQ. Great mix of it Irish and contemporary, the music was brilliant and people enjoyed it. Also a very nice guy to deal with, both in advance and on the day. He brought a fiddle player alongside which was class."
John Crossan Music
"I couldn't recommend John enough! Great musician. A pleasure to listen to. Selection of songs were perfect (something for everyone). The communication before the event was brilliant too. Will definitely be booking again."
Meadhbh Hayes - Trad/Folk/Pop Covers
"Simply put, Meadhbh Hayes is a show stopper. She played for our private family of 17 during our stay in Galway. She is bursting with talent, charisma, and energy. Honestly if she lived in the USA I would befriend her in an instant. Her song choices catered to a wide range of tunes and she even sang a new song she wrote. Phenomenal in every way!! Highly recommend for your next event. She will not disappoint!"
Jazz & Bossa Nova
"Kasia & Gustavo played at our drinks reception and we received so many compliments about their performance from family and friends on the day. They are very easy to work with (we gave them some suggestions of the style of music we like and they expanded on it), and communication was very easy. Reliable, professional and just a lovely, happy pair to share a happy occasion with. Highly recommend."
Mil
"Can't say enough about Riccardo from start to finish, with communication and making the event work effortlessly.Would 100 percent advise booking him.Asked if could play a song and he studied the song to play Amazing guy 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯"
The Gav Carpenter Band
"As a long-time Folkpunk, Celtic Punk, Irish Folk Punk fan, I found the line up perfect. It started with the Gavin Carpenter Duo, two men, alone on the big stage. Vocals, guitar and a cajon, that was all to give the audience a taste for the rest of the evening. Personally, I really enjoyed this hour of folk music and I was certainly not alone. The people sang along and clapped along, Gavin Carpenter took the audience to the Emerald Isle musically with his discreet, not at all obtrusive manner and looked very good in his fine suit."
